Having just caught his breath, Alain saw the massive creature attempting to change direction and avoid the room, which only solidified his suspicion.
Using the last of his strength, he leaped into the air. The mosaic greatsword became a blunt weapon, and with a "thwack," it solidly struck the Devourer's head.
The slightly deviated angle corrected itself, and the giant insect, like a train entering a tunnel, crashed into the Manipulator's room with a "rumble."
The Devourer frantically thrashed about inside the room, desperately trying to avoid its body touching the black line.
Alain, still watching the spectacle from the doorway, could feel the sheer malice directed at him as the creature "saw" him.
However, its immense size turned the cramped room into a cage.
"Weren't you quite the rammer just now?"
Alain enjoyed seeing the dying insect wanting to kill him but being unable to. So satisfying! His earlier resistance hadn't been in vain.
As he watched, despite the insect's caution, a small part of its body inevitably touched the black line.
Instantly, the Manipulator in the center of the ceiling erupted in a burst of glitched code. The glitched code extended to the Devourer's body and, unsurprisingly, began to corrode it.
The massive body churned, creating waves of static. The vibrant red within its body was quickly stained by the black of the glitched code, spreading rapidly from the point of contact with the black line towards its other parts.
Seeing this, Alain let out a sigh of relief.
During their retreat, he and Misha had instantly decided on a plan: use the Manipulator's environmental kill to eliminate the Devourer.
The process was… extremely perilous, but thankfully, they had succeeded.
"Darling, are you alright?" Alain's reliable darling quickly ran over and supported his shoulders.
"Need a hug…" Alain leaned against Misha's shoulder as if all his strength had left him.
"Alright, alright, we can hug later after it's all over." The girl chuckled softly, gently patting his back and straightening his body. Then, taking his hand, she stood a little further away.

The lost Mita stood beside them, a little uneasy. "It feels… like you're both so calm."
"We've seen things," Alain replied.
Alain's thoughts couldn't help but drift to a certain low-ponytail girl.
He felt that the pressure from the bad woman was far more terrifying than this insect.
Mad Mita could be quite cute when she wanted to be, but she was absolutely ruthless when she got serious.

Alain suspected that if he ever actually did that kind of thing with her in the future, he might just get crushed to death.

Alain narrowed his eyes, observing the Manipulator's condition.

On the other side, the black within the insect's body had spread to most of its body, with only a quarter remaining red.
"Hmm?" Alain narrowed his eyes. He saw the code and even error messages in the red area, flowing like the movement of cells towards the boundary between black and red.

"Crap…!" Misha frantically tried to step in front of Alain, and the lost Mita also made a move.
But both of them were pulled behind him by his arms.

He felt that the current him could even kill a god.
The thought only lasted for an instant. A monstrous force, as if capable of moving mountains, surged up, instantly overwhelming the insect's power.
Alain swung the sword—
"Strangle the bad end…!"
With a "boom," he slammed it down in front of him, like swatting a fly, unleashing a thunderous sound wave.
The violent force created an even stronger wind, whipping the two girls' hair wildly.
With one strike, the wooden floor cracked, and crimson code scattered all over the ground.
"What is this power?"
Misha exclaimed in shock. Under her gaze, Alain moved the greatsword, revealing… the insect beneath the blade, smashed into a pancake.
