Chapter 20 - water keeps flowing

The morning sun cast a golden hue over the Horseshoe Overlook camp as Hosea approached me with a gleam in his eye.

"Wyatt," he began, "I've got a job that requires a bit of finesse. Interested?"

I nodded, intrigued by the prospect of a new challenge.

We rode out towards Emerald Ranch, the crisp air filled with the sounds of nature and the rhythmic clopping of our horses' hooves. Hosea explained the plan: we were to steal a stagecoach from a cousin of Seamus, a fence who could help us offload stolen goods.

As we approached Carmody Dell, Hosea suggested we wait until nightfall to minimize the risk of being spotted. The hours passed slowly, the anticipation building with each tick of the clock.

Under the cover of darkness, we made our move. Hosea created a distraction, drawing the occupants away from the house. I slipped inside, careful to avoid creaky floorboards and any signs of life. The coin in my pocket pulsed gently, a reminder of its presence.

I searched the house methodically, collecting valuables and ensuring no trace of my intrusion remained. The tension was palpable, but the thrill of the heist coursed through my veins.

Once I had gathered everything, I signaled to Hosea. Together, we hitched the stagecoach and made our escape, the adrenaline of the successful theft fueling our swift departure.

Returning to camp, Hosea clapped me on the back, a proud smile on his face.

"Well done, Wyatt. You're proving to be quite the asset."

I nodded, the coin's subtle hum a reminder that this was just the beginning of my journey.

(Sorry it's so short not been feeling well got my wisdom teeth removed and stuff)
