The rest of the meeting went on as many before had; funnily enough the major difference was her lack of input as she wasn't exactly in a place to step forward to give her opinion.
Of course that was nothing to do with personal strength.
Rather things quickly shifted to the new realms or significantly unique issues that required the attention of those who would be affected. Meanwhile the demon realm wasn't so weak that a couple trillion new mortal universes could influence it. More often than not… They were the solution.
Nothing quite gets mortals to unite than the overwhelming nature of a demonic incursion - not that all incursions were of the same weight. Rarely anyone above demon lord rank got involved let alone someone on her level. Simply because they were often pre planned events to "correct" mistakes.
A mail order service where Mother or her cohorts, perhaps even Victory's older sister, would request her to open some portals for her cute little children to pass through. Let them freely wreck havoc for a few decades or so before they are destroyed. At which point they just reconstitute in the demon realm.
Their spoils are still intact.
So the divine demon thought with her lips curling up in cruel satisfaction at the showmanship those same gods often enact when convincing people to attack the demons they had summoned.
Not that she cared about such matters.
That was politics for you.
All of the demons knew fine well that they were being used however that was always how things worked for the demon realm. Everything was always agreed upon as nothing was stronger than a contract. She had made sure that was the case.
The very blood in a demon's veins compelled them to follow the intent of every deal they made; even if their initial contractor was dead. As long as they got their payment the rest didn't matter. Plus dying or being slandered hardly mattered to a powerful demon.
If anything the notoriety helped with business.
Plus it wasn't as if all incursions were merely at the will of whatever god decreed it was a necessary evil to get their subjects in check. Countless new worlds and beyond came into existence every second. Some of them were better off not existing while others simply got unlucky.
Mother may have cared about mortals in her own sociopathic way yet she also knew that nothing enticed a demon more than a fresh world full of sin to claim.
It was both a currency, powersource and lifeblood!
Her smile, remembering those bloody scenes that she viewed for amusement, faded just as the memories did and reality returned.
No point in paying attention to this discussion when she couldn't offer her usual propositions, As it stood she only knew where two of her archdemons were - one being stranded in some backwater mortal realm and the other trapped in the dreamscape like always. Hard to make any moves with an empty throne.
Tapping her chin as she narrowed her eyes.
There were the other ones as well, having one for every sin including ignorance & knowledge, but she simply couldn't be bothered to remember them all at the moment.
Eventually the talks began to fall into a lul as those topics that those attending cared about were dwindling as the minutes went by. Soon enough it appeared as if everything that was to be said had been said. At least that's what she thought till she noticed her older sister's gaze once more.
Tilting her head to the side as that gaze held strong for a moment.
Neither saying a word for a while till the hybrid of the heavens spoke up at least; still carrying no emotion as their question broke the silence of the room.
"Do you know where Vibrant is?"
"Nn."
It wasn't surprising to question her about one of her fellow "triplets" since everyone knew this older sister of theirs cared about her family. She also saw no reason to lie. And, after getting her answer, that same older sister simply nodded as she saw no reason to get involved in the personal lives of her family.
Victory didn't bother standing on ceremony (leaving before anyone could even talk to her and they certainly did try to do that) sneaking back into the depths of the dreamscape. Slipping into her own mindscape. Simply phasing into existence as if she had never not been sitting on her throne.
Looking forth as she flicked her hand; once more watching the world around the little Elizabeth girl.
"Amuse me…"
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Currently both Elizabeth & Necrohamster were sitting in armchairs in the hidden compartment of a carriage carrying weapons. Not that one could ever guess based on their situation. The hamster literally had a cup of tea that he was sipping on without worry.
In fact the room wasn't ridiculously large like her old bedroom but it was at least as large as what you'd expect from a decent inn.
"So the plan is to let a man with a speed buff that only applies to horses bring the weapons to a border camp when we'll sneak out…?"
Still looking around in wonder that the demon had managed this - literally expanding a little cubby between the place the storage & drivers seat. It was such a small space that a human couldn't possibly stay however that didn't stop the hamster from fitting both of them there. His magic truly… Magical.
Even had a bunch of shelfs full of books in languages she simply didn't know; she didn't even know the names nor origins of the languages let alone meanings.
"Indeed!"
She couldn't really complain since it was better than any plan she could come up with.
"How about I tell you an old legend?"
Presenting a smile that left her unable to do anything but nod.
He brought his hand in front of his mouth, clearing his throat, before continuing on with his tale.
"There once was a story of a young girl who lived on a farm but ended up full of lard. She was fat like a pig but fittingly loved them so dear. Only to have to end their hearts…
Yeah I suck at that nursery rhyme stuff, so let's stop.
There was once a legend of a girl who was cast away by everyone. Beginning when a warrior woman accepted the offer of a man to find respite from her long journey in his farm house. She had no reason to suspect her food & drink were laced with the same stuff that he used to make sure the animals on the farm would fall into heat.
Leading to a night of passion that thus let her find out another fact. It increased ovulation thus making sure that same woman ended up pregnant and so she fell into his trap to obtain a beautiful wife. Obviously she didn't want the baby and she also couldn't stand the ugly bastard who put it in her.
She had to give birth to it yet nothing stopped her from running away and abandoning her.
Her father obviously wasn't a very good person out the bat so took his frustration on his hot wife escaping out on his daughter. Making her do all the work on their farm from a young age but she had a slow metabolism and dealt with depression via eating. So she gained fat quickly as she turned into quite the glutton.
With this and her family 'troubles' being rather public she was ostracised in school in the small religious village they lived in. With no one around to talk to she would likely go insane if not for her gift - getting along well with the animals around the farm.
But she connected most with the pigs who she found cute and then strangely the spiders. Partly due to her dislike for hornets as well as wasps. Due to a general avoidance of adding any more pain into her already very pitiful life and the fact they also hurt her "friends".
Talking to them as if they could hear & talk back.
Eventually it seemed like they began to, however there is only one purpose for a pig on a farm and it happens in a place called a slaughterhouse. Being forced to occasionally kill her only friends certainly didn't help her mental state. Leading to her to begin to fall into bouts of straight out hysteria whenever she thought about them.
But unleashing her wrath whenever she saw anyone eating or insulting her precious friends led quickly to her being disciplined. Getting envious of 'other kids' as the spiders told tales of lives she only wished she could have. All the while getting more and more independent by the day filled her with some pride in her abilities no matter what anyone said.
Becoming a bit of a problem.
One day she decided she couldn't be bothered with everyone else's opinions on her so stopped turning up to school. Becoming slothful and lethargic for the short periods of time she wasn't able to hang around her 'friends in the barn'. Seeing no reason in paying attention to the humans who abused her.
However, at the age of six the girl had hit early puberty and began to get greedy, thinking about 'escaping' her situation as the spiders suggested. She would hoard any money she could find. Nevertheless she would in fact be caught by her father on her ninth birthday as she lusted for her freedom too much.
Leading to her getting careless.
This is the night where a legend of a sad little girl turns into the nightmare everyone saw her as.
Unable to resist her father she was forced down and humiliated by him like always.
Everything she thought she had, everything she had learned and knew was useless as she began to feel her drunk father violate her. She was filled with overflowing rage as she reached for a knife. No longer like a tamed pig but a wild boar.
Surging with power and a 'hand' from her magically inclined spider friends she pulled it down then let his head fall down over her. Pushing him off with less emotion then when she was killing the animals. She slowly began to walk towards the village...
Then she did it faster, then she ran until she was on a full sprint as she was no longer at the village but cutting down everyone in her path with the bloodied knife.
Sparing no human in her sight as she cut off heads, arms, anything she could reach as she unleashed the butcher they made her become. Demon hunters soon became aware of the large amount of bloodshed going on but by the time they arrived nobody was alive.
The girl had worn out her muscles so the pigs she loved so much were pulling her away to safety.
However, being unsure of the situation, those demon hunters thought it was best to take no chances and it's said that that little girl died that night. Murdered by the demon hunters. But as she died a spider whispered into her ear of her severed head..
'Are you going to let us, your only friends die here? Become more than our friend, become the mother of your brood...' And that night it's said the Nightmare Spider - Chokin-Bako Twilight - was born... Quite the one of a kind birth!"
He announced as he finally finished his tale… Only to realise the girl across from him was in tears as she mourned the death of the poor little girl whose story she couldn't help relate to. Making that hamster feel rather awkward with no knowledge on how to calm a girl.
