Leng Mochen arrived quickly, and he immediately spotted Li Si trembling and frozen under the eaves of a store. His temper flared up sharply, "Are you stupid? Why didn't you wait for me inside?" He said as he got out of the car, swiftly pushing Li Si into the passenger seat.
Leng Mochen circled around to the driver's seat, cranked up the heater, and took out a large towel to wipe the rainwater off Li Si.
"What am I supposed to say to you? Why were you foolishly standing outside? What if you catch a cold?" His anger made his voice loud, but Li Si only listened meekly, like a little kitten.
After a while, she whispered softly, "I was afraid that if I went inside to shelter from the rain, you wouldn't be able to find me!"
"You, girl, what's really going on?" Leng Mochen wrapped her in the large towel, tried to hold her close to share his warmth, and felt some pain in his heart seeing her looking so pitiful—the two swollen, red eyes especially betrayed that she'd been crying.
