"Do I...know you?" Gabe was really struggling to understand what is going on right now. Who was this goblin? and why does it seem like he knows me from somewhere? The goblin palms his forehead as he says "Ah, mistake! me never give name! Me Gobsung, chief shaman of tribe!" "Okay but that still doesn't tell me how I know you." The shaman chuckles as if Gabe was telling the funniest joke right now. "You forget? I'm Goblin that YOU encourage! You first fan of singing!" Realization hit Gabe faster than if he had whiplash. "That was you!?" "Yeah! but now not time. Me here to repay Favor!"
The Goblin places the dirt for Gabe as he continues on. "Because you help with dream, me help with strength!" The shaman pauses before saying "And me hope to join you in adventure!" The first statement of the goblin was fine enough, but the second really floored Gabe. Join him? "Why do you want to join me?" The Goblin looks Gabe in the eyes. Gabe shifts back a little as the goblin was way to close for comfort. "Cause me wish to spread song! Want to see more than just sleepy face of kin as I sing sleep spell." Now Gabe's curiosity was peaked.
"sleep spell? you know magic now?" Gobsung gives Gabe a weird look. "Course Know magic. how else become shaman?" The shaman then throws the water at Gabe. as he is sputtering the goblin continues. "No magic mean no effect to song. no spirit, no feel." The goblin fake retches as if to prove his point. "Hrm! well can you teach me how to use this so called magic?" "Of course! have to anyway." The goblin then steps back. "Magic fueled by thing called 'mana'. Stuff found all over body. To make magic, simply force out. Like this!" An orb of blue energy appears over the shaman's palm. "Woah..." Gabe was truly mesmerized. It had always been a desire in anyone who enjoyed the supernatural to create magic, and now, he was just shown that it was possible.
Gabe then realized that their was only one problem with the explanation. "So how do I find my mana?" The shamans smirk grows a bit stiff at the question. Quickly recovering, Gobsung began to explain. "Well, there is a method, but it is really painful one. you won't like." "Try me. I have delt with a lot worst from your kin being trapped down here for who knows how long." The bravado was palpable from Gabe, and Gobsung could sense it.
"Ok then. To find mana, another mana source must be used. Normally not problem if use magic stone, but because no access to it, I have to be source." Gobsung leans in as he states "When living mana enter another living body, body instinct to fight back. This fight hurt person, but will also give sense of invading mana. You could die from experience if not prepare. Will still try! "
Gabe sat in silence for a bit, a storm of thoughts in his hollow head. He finally looks up and with the upmost seriousness that he can muster, Gabe declares "Lets do it." "Very well. we do in one week." The shaman then leaves through the entrance, sealing it with the blue energy Gabe can now identify as mana.
Now with nothing to do, Gabe sinks back into his thoughts. "Freedom is close at hand, yet will I be able to handle this? If I fail, where would I end up next? What will this mana even do to me? or even for me?" Soon, the week had unknowingly pass, and Gobsung had returned, this time with no assistants. "What happened to those helpers of yours?" "They off party. Today is year of goblin grouping. Big get together, big fun. Normally should be with me for duty, but I let go. Break very good for mind every once and while." Gobsung unties Gabe. As he tried to stand up, a green hand forces him onto his back.
Before Gabe could rage out, Gobsung spoke. "It better if laying down. Many goblin test show that." Gabe's resistance soon died down at that. "Now to do I must place palms on forehead and chest. Mana will react strongest there. Last chance to back out." "No going back. bring it on!" The palms on his body glow in a blue hue as the energy fans out. At first, Gabe could feel a slight tingling. Yet by the next few minutes, pure agony erupted in both his head and torso. He opens his mouth as if to scream, yet no sound comes out, as the pain is so intense the vocal cords can't even express it. This process lasted for an hour before Gobsung stopped outputting mana.
Gabe slowly sits up as the pain slowly dissipates. "Well? you find?" In response to Gobsung's question, Gabe shakily raises his hand. A blue mist escapes from his palm.
