Chapter 109: Forced Departure to Tianshui Academy A Terrible Travel Experience

"Get lost! Have you rested enough? If so, get ready for combat training."

Guang Ling scolded with a smile, not giving Han Li a chance to keep pretending. He immediately dispersed the soul power barrier and looked at him expectantly, as if daring him to continue talking nonsense.

"Alright then, let's start combat training. Sister Xiu'er, you can sit this one out today just get familiar with the changes in your martial soul. Yan, you'll train with me. Master can help you set up a training plan."

Han Li quickly returned to his usual demeanor, addressing Dugu Yan and Xiu'er as if their earlier conversation had never happened.

"Alright."

Dugu Yan and Xiu'er both nodded.

"Good, let's go. Yan, you watch first and see how I train Han Li. Get ready mentally."

Guang Ling shot a subtle glance at his disciple, who looked just as calm as always, and then smiled kindly.

An hour later, the training field echoed with Han Li's muffled grunts of pain. Dugu Yan, watching from the sidelines, shivered as her gaze toward Guang Ling changed completely.

Guang Ling reluctantly discarded the wooden staff he had found quite handy, then recorded the updated stats of both Han Li and Dugu Yan before leaving with a casual remark that he would prepare their training plans.

A Grueling Training Schedule

The next day, Guang Ling handed them their new training schedule, and the following half month became an incredibly intense period of training.

He even brought in two Soul Kings from the Angel Corps to train Han Li and Dugu Yan in aerial combat techniques.

For two days, they were nothing more than moving targets. However, after their initial awkwardness, they gradually became more proficient.

Just yesterday, Guang Ling brought some news after Golden Crocodile Douluo went into seclusion, Qingluan Douluo also started his own closed door training.

Qingluan's decision to enter seclusion made the other worshippers restless, and their gazes toward Guang Ling grew increasingly suspicious.

While Han Li was fully immersed in his new training, enjoying his rapid improvement, Guang Ling suddenly interrupted him with an excited expression.

His plan no, his brilliant idea had finally received approval from Qian Daoliu. The grand worshipper had only given him one reminder: be mindful of your actions.

"So, Master, why are you here? Since Grandmaster Uncle has already approved, just go on your own. I need to keep training."

Han Li firmly rejected Guang Ling's attempt to drag him into this. He needed to focus on his training he had zero interest in getting involved.

As for Shui Bing'er, couldn't Guang Ling just bring her back on his own? If he succeeded, Han Li would naturally have plenty of chances to interact with her later. Right now, showing up at Tianshui Academy was just asking for trouble.

"Traveling alone is just too boring. Besides, your main training is aerial combat, right? You can practice on the way, and I can guide you. Soul power cultivation doesn't have to be done at home you agree, don't you?"

Guang Ling pulled him close with an unreadable smile, a mix of amusement and threat.

"Master, can't you just let me rest? I only got back a few days ago! Because of this, I've had to delay my move to the city, and I still need to inspect Yan's simulated environment. I have so much to do!"

Han Li really didn't want to go. Training wouldn't be an issue, but why would he trade his current comfort for the hardship of traveling again?

"Dugu Yan can inspect it herself. Would you know better than her whether the environment suits her or not?"

"And don't forget, I first learned about Shui Bing'er from you. You're going whether you like it or not."

Guang Ling was completely shameless.

"Fine, fine, I'll go! But some of my custom clothes won't be ready until tomorrow afternoon. We leave the day after, and we fly there quick trip, in and out."

Han Li knew he had no choice, so he surrendered with conditions. If he had to go, he was going to make it as fast as possible.

"Deal! Get back to training I'm leaving."

As soon as Guang Ling got Han Li's agreement, he bolted before his disciple could change his mind.

"Ugh… now I have to come up with an excuse for Sister Xiu'er and Yan."

Han Li massaged his temples, finding it hard to focus on training.

"Forget it, I'll just blame Master. Whether they believe me or not… I'll worry about that later."

A Painful Journey

It took Han Li over a day to convince the two girls not to follow him. He had to swear that he wouldn't be gone for more than a month and promise to accompany them on ten shopping trips once he returned before they finally let him go.

Seeing Han Li's utterly defeated expression, Guang Ling turned away and then burst into laughter.

"Come on, cheer up. Even though you're about to suffer, at least I'm happy right now!"

Han Li had a bad feeling about that statement, but he was too exhausted to argue. Since he had already agreed, he just wanted to get it over with.

"Alright, let's go, my dear Master."

"Good! Let's move out!"

Guang Ling, in high spirits, ignored Han Li's sarcasm. The two of them quickly left the city, avoiding any onlookers, then spread their wings and vanished into the sky.

Seven Days Later Tianshui City

Seven days later, two exhausted figures arrived in the city where Tianshui Academy was located.

Checking the time, the taller figure turned to his companion and asked, "Let's rest for the night and visit them tomorrow. Sound good?"

"Yes."

The other person didn't hesitate to agree.

Obviously, the two were Guang Ling and Han Li.

They had sacrificed comfort for speed, cutting the travel time significantly. In just seven days, they had reached their destination.

At first, Han Li had enjoyed the freedom of flying and even entertained the idea of sparring with Guang Ling midair, treating the journey like a vacation.

But after the first day, reality hit him.

By the second day, neither of them had the energy to joke around anymore.

Eventually, they were traveling at Han Li's maximum speed, only stopping to rest when they were too exhausted to continue. The moment they recovered, they took off again, pushing themselves to their limits.

By the end, they had grown numb to the pain.

To be fair, there were benefits. Han Li noticed that after seven days of extreme exertion, his soul power recovery and density had improved significantly. It was like completing an intense training regimen.

However, given the choice, he would much rather take a carriage and travel leisurely with Xiu'er and Dugu Yan. This experience had been awful, and he had no intention of ever repeating it.

As they walked through the city toward an inn, their spirits finally began to lift.

"Let's take a carriage back home." ×2

Neither knew who said it first, but it was instantly decided the return trip would be by carriage, no exceptions.
