"Understanding the enemy and the principles of coordinated action is vital but theory without practice is useless in the face of blood-hungry ogre. This session will be dedicated to putting these tactical formation into action."
"We will run through scenarios designed to test your abilities to move as a unit, to utilize your individual strengths within the formation and react to the simulated threats."
Captain Ulric gestures to the different sections of the training grounds.
Noah shouted, frustration directed towards the captain for making nobles do a human's task.
"Tch, we are nobles! Why must we be subjected to a lowly human's job! We are far more superior and those monsters are just..."
A bullet grazed through Noah's ear, causing him to flinch pain.
"A word of reminder, even your so called nobles fell to the hands of us hunters."
Captain Ulric put down his pistol back in his pocket.
"That Noah, he's putting the noble name down because of his rash actions."
Latisha sighed in disappointment.
"The marked lanes will be used to practice the wedge formation, focusing on maintaining cohesion while advancing under pressure. The open field grass will be used for the skirmish line drills, emphasizing spacing and covering fire. The central circle is for practicing the defense perimeter against multiple attackers. And the obstacle course will simulate a tactical retreat using the echelon formation."
Captain Ulric addresses the mixed groups directly.
"Vampires are to learn to fight alongside werewolves, you have the raw power of blood and demonic energy which are both great assets for close quarter and middle ranged combat."
"Mages, your arcane abilities must be integrated seamlessly with the physical movements of your allies."
"Werewolves, your primal instincts must be channeled within the formation."
"And Hunters, support and augment your more powerful allies with awareness and special weaponry."
"Am I clear!"
"Sir yes sir!"
The first day of their hellish training began.
"Hah... hah..."
Angel panted, trying to keep up with his low stamina.
His eyes blurry from the exhaustion and heat, watching his classmates sprint away.
"I can't... move my legs..."
Angel tried to stand and kept going, even if it meant being on left due to his slowness.
"That kid is persistent."
Captain Ulric watched from the side.
The training went on until the end of today's class.
Angel returned to his room, exhausted and panting heavily.
"I can't... anymore."
Angel laid down on his bed as he breathed heavily.
"There were no monsters written inside the diary."
"Monsters that only appeared usually in only novels and video games, suddenly appeared."
While laying down, Angel raised his hand and summoned out blood spikes into the air using the ring on his finger then striking onto worthless objects inside the room.
"Return."
The blood that became a puddle after striking the targeted objects were sucked back inside the wound on his finger before it closed and healed.
"Demonic energy, a power that us vampires possess. I want to learn it more."
Angel tried to find books regarding the use of demonic energy but failed to do so.
The books only contained regarding blood manipulation and worldy knowledge that the Moriarty family and Cain possessed.
The door then opened, where Malachi can be seen watching Angel at the doorstep.
"Ah, sir Malachi."
"To think you'd come to possess my brother's room. If it had been in the past, you would have gotten executed."
Malachi chuckled, looking at Angel's grim expression.
"What brings you here sir Malachi."
"You seemed to be searching for something, I thought that I could be of help."
Angel placed down the book on the table and faced Malachi with a serious look.
"I want to learn about demonic energy, not just to manipulate blood but to get stronger."
Malachi looked at Angel, his eyes gazing down on him.
"I understand your will and intention, but demonic energy isn't something you can merely learn to get stronger."
"Its a corrupt energy that tries to possess its user with malice and power."
"Let me ask you Angel, have you ever experienced hearing voices, the sudden urge to kill the person in front of you and devour them."
As Angel heard those words, he brought back to the memory of the moment against the man in the park.
The strange demonic voice that tried to possess him, Angel remembered everything before his sight blacked out.
"My brother faced it too, though he may have suppressed his thirst for blood, he couldn't do anything to a mental being that tried to rattle his mental state."
"I did hear that voice, telling me to devour the man that tried to murder me back in the park."
"But I suddenly stopped hearing that voice."
Malachi picked up the books that Angel dropped on the ground and placed it back on the shelves.
"If you want to use demonic power, then subdue that demon of yours. Then I will teach you the demonic arts of the Moriarty clan."
