His lips met mine again, and this time, there was no hesitation. It wasn't gentle.It wasn't soft.It was desperate. Consuming. Like he'd spent days trying to lock this part of himself away, and now that it had escaped, it was ravenous.
His fingers curled under my thighs as he lifted me off the counter. I let out a soft gasp, arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as he cradled me against his chest, bridal style.
"Kieran—"
"Not a word," he said softly, eyes burning into mine. "You say one more thing that breaks me, and I might not recover."
My throat caught. I didn't say another word.
As we stepped into the hall, I caught the flicker of movement—two maids passing at the end of the corridor. One of them gasped, the other stifled a giggle, and they both quickly ducked around the corner as if they hadn't just witnessed the Alpha carrying his Luna upstairs like she was made of spun glass.
I buried my face in his chest, mortified.
