Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Maxwell’s Electromagnetic Theory and the Lightning Release: Railgun Technique!

Absolutely hopeless.

After that heart-to-heart with Shisui, Kaze finally understood the meaning of "playing music to a cow"—completely wasted effort.

But thinking about it, it made sense. Shisui had been indoctrinated with the Will of Fire since childhood.

How could a few of Kaze's words possibly shake his faith in the Third Hokage?

As expected…

Shisui—this man—there's no way he can be allowed to live.

"Big brother Kaze!"

Just as Kaze was silently brooding, Sasuke finally gave up on repeatedly trying and turned around, grinning with pride as he waved excitedly at Kaze.

His face practically screamed look at me.

After countless tries, Sasuke had finally managed to release a Great Fireball Jutsu with a diameter over two meters.

Though it still wasn't quite on par with his family's 'Little Tama,' for Sasuke, it was his best performance yet.

"You're amazing, Nii-chu."

Kaze didn't hold back his praise, giving a big thumbs-up to Sasuke's Great Fireball.

Big, round, and honestly not much worse than what most Genin could manage after academy training.

However…

Sasuke's face twisted in confusion the moment he heard the nickname "Nii-chu.""Nii-chu?"

"Aren't you the clan head's second son?" Kaze lied smoothly, without missing a beat.

"Ohhh, I see now!" Sasuke smacked his right fist into his left palm, having a eureka moment.

'Nii' because I'm the second son of Father, he thought. 'Chu' matches part of my name… and the final 'zi' probably means I'm someone important, someone they're counting on!

(T/N: In simpler words, he just called him Second Pillar.)

Sasuke mentally filled in all the blanks and ended up happier than ever.

Meanwhile, a thought suddenly popped into Kaze's mind.

"Well, since I've seen your Fireball Jutsu, guess I'll put on a show too."

As he spoke, Kaze stood up from the grass and pulled a coin from his right pocket.

Both Sasuke and Shisui immediately turned their eyes toward Kaze, curious about what he was doing.

Kaze extended his arm horizontally, pressing his thumb against the pad of his index finger. The coin sat perfectly balanced on his thumbnail.

Sasuke tilted his head, clearly puzzled about what Kaze was up to.

Truth be told…

This was just an experiment—part of Kaze's exploration into the powers of the Thunder Fruit.

He regulated his breathing and slowly activated the Thunder Fruit's energy.

Crackle!

In an instant, faint blue arcs of electricity danced across Kaze's hand, sizzling with intensity.

Before transmigrating, Kaze had attended high school in Hengshui.

He still remembered a bit about Maxwell's electromagnetic field theory.

Electricity produces magnetism because moving electric charges generate a magnetic field in space.

In other words, as long as you could get electric charges to move in a controlled space, you could generate an electromagnetic field in a targeted area.

With that in mind, Kaze narrowed his eyes.

In the next moment, he applied light pressure with his thumb—and flicked the coin into the air.

Once the coin rose to about half a meter high, it began to fall freely under the pull of gravity.

Sasuke and Shisui both blinked in confusion.

They still didn't get it.

A ninja technique?

With a single copper coin? How dangerous could that possibly be?

"Huu…"

Kaze ignored their doubt and focused entirely on increasing the speed of the moving charges.

As the coin fell, he created an invisible electromagnetic field in his hand!

Sparks flew.

All the power concentrated into a tiny pinpoint!

Right where the coin was about to fall—

BOOM!

The immense power generated by the electromagnetic field surged entirely into the tiny coin.

In that brief instant, an explosive burst of energy launched the coin at a speed beyond the limit of human perception!

The sound roared like thunder.

A golden beam of energy shot out from Kaze's fingertip!

At the same time, a terrifying shockwave erupted!

The grass covering the ground was instantly obliterated, and a half-meter-deep trench was carved out across the earth.

Sasuke had never imagined that a tiny coin could unleash such destructive force. Startled, he instinctively shut his eyes.

His bangs fluttered wildly in the wind.

Both of his small feet dug into the ground in an effort to stay upright—only to be dragged back almost twenty meters.

As Kaze's energy beam soared across the Naka River, it carved a black line across the river's surface.

Then the black line thickened, splitting the river in two.

One half was abruptly cut off, while the other continued flowing downstream.

The violent force even exposed the bare, dry riverbed beneath!

Roughly three or four seconds later, the energy blast slammed into the forest on the opposite bank.

BOOM!!

Another earth-shaking blast thundered out.

The coin struck a large boulder—and unable to withstand the extreme heat, the metal immediately liquefied into molten copper.

The ground erupted into a cloud of gray dust—

From a distance, it looked like a mushroom cloud had bloomed on the far side of the river.

Even Kaze himself was startled by the destructive power of such a tiny coin.

"…It worked."

In truth, Kaze hadn't expected much. He'd just wanted to try it out.

He never imagined it would actually work on the first try!

Only after the roaring echoes faded did a trembling Sasuke slowly open his eyes.

The scorched crater in the ground…

The split Naka River…

And the blooming mushroom cloud…

Each scene shocked his young mind—and when taken together, the impact tripled.

Sasuke gasped in disbelief.

"Big brother Kaze is that strong of a ninja?!"

In fact, it wasn't just the five-year-old who had never seen anything like this who was stunned—

Even Shisui, who had seen plenty, was left speechless.

Just from a visual estimate, the effective range of Kaze's jutsu was at least fifty or sixty meters.

What kind of concept was that?

Shisui's strongest technique—the Fire Style: Great Fire Dragon Jutsu—only had a range of twenty meters at best.

And even that had earned him the title of Fire Release genius among the Uchiha.

Now compare that to Kaze's Lightning Release?

It was like comparing a candle to a supernova.

"…Just now, what kind of jutsu was that?"Shisui's throat tightened. He swallowed nervously.

"Hm?" Kaze tilted his head slightly, thinking for a moment."Let's call it Lightning Release: Railgun Technique."

"Lightning Release: Railgun Technique…" Shisui repeated, his tone cautious."…That's an unbelievably terrifying jutsu."

He paused, then added gravely,"I doubt anyone in all of Konoha could surpass you in the realm of Lightning Release."

(T/N: At this rate, come the Fourth Ninja World War, Madara might just float down from the sky like, "I, Uchiha Madara, declare you the Strongest Lightning Release User.' Bro wouldn't even try to block it—he'd just admire the technique while tanking it.)

This wasn't Shisui trying to flatter Kaze.

It was just that the Lightning Style: Railgun Technique had completely overturned his understanding of Lightning Release.

After the initial shock passed, a look of longing appeared in Sasuke's eyes.

If only he could master that Lightning Style: Railgun Technique—and perform it in front of his father, Fugaku…

He would definitely be praised as a gifted child.

"Kaze… big brother… c-could you… teach me that move just now?!"

Sasuke ran over to Kaze in one go, both hands braced on his knees, gasping for breath as he spoke.

Logically speaking, that distance shouldn't have exhausted him.

But after repeatedly casting the Fireball Jutsu, his chakra was almost depleted.

That's why he was so out of breath.

"Of course…"

Kaze smiled playfully, the corners of his lips curling upward.

"…you can't learn it."

(T/N: I wonder what will happen if Sasuke actually managed to learn this technique Maybe Kurama will get another PTSD. Anyway hope you all enjoyed this chapter.)
