Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Hand Over the Infinity Stone—Now

T/N: I recently translated a chapter on my Patreon where the author cleared up some of the confusion you might have about this fic. Want me to spoil it for you? Haha.

---------------

The B48 star system hadn't seen an external invasion in an age.

The last time foreign forces breached their borders was thirty million years ago.

Back then, the Anla—a rival race of the Oro clan—had pushed all the way to the heart of Planet B48. The Oro, rulers of the B48 Nebula, were forced into retreat after retreat.

On the brink of extinction, the Oro ancestors somehow discovered a source of extraordinary power. In a desperate gambit to avoid annihilation, they constructed an artificial energy emitter to broadcast this immense power across the entire planet.

That decision changed everything.

Across Planet B48, people began to evolve—some grew taller, others stronger, some bulkier, others even changed in color. They awakened a new ability: to condense their inner energy into focused beams of destructive force. With this newfound strength, the Oro turned the tide and obliterated their ancient enemies, ensuring their survival in the cosmic expanse.

Recognizing the overwhelming potential of this power—and fearing it might one day fall into the wrong hands—the Oro ancestors severed all contact with the greater galaxy. Using the emitter, they cloaked the entire B48 system in an energy field, masking it from the rest of the universe.

For thirty million years, the Oro clan watched from the shadows—silent observers of galactic history. With their self-imposed isolation, the name B48 slowly faded into myth, swallowed by time.

Had it not been for the coordinates provided by Astra, even Thanos would've never uncovered the system's hidden location—or found its entrance.

"We've arrived at the B48 System, Lord Thanos."

Inside the command ship, Ebony Maw turned from the viewing pane. Using the coordinates provided by Lothar, they'd pierced the massive energy barrier cloaking the N48 planetary system. Before them, a tapestry of stars unfolded.

"A system shrouded in legend," Thanos murmured.

He rose from his throne, his eyes fixed on the celestial beauty outside the hull—his expression as still as deep water.

"Three minutes to destination."

"Two minutes."

"One minute."

"We're here, my lord."

Hovering before them was a sapphire-blue world—surprisingly undefended.

"Lothar."

"Yes, Father."

Understanding the silent command, Lothar unbuckled his harness. His tail swayed as he flexed his wrist, standing before the ship's energy transporter.

"Begin."

"As you command, Lord Thanos."

Ebony Maw activated the teleporter. A focused beam of light shot straight from the ship's underbelly, piercing the atmosphere below.

"Prince Lothar, Astra's coordinates place the objective inside the royal palace just ahead and to your left," Woz, now worn as a wristband on Lothar's arm, spoke calmly.

As soon as they landed, Astra's red signal pulsed on the display—just as several figures appeared in Lothar's path.

The one in front had twin horns, golden hair, and sea-blue eyes. Clad in deep crimson armor, he pointed at Lothar, his cape billowing in still air.

"This is the end of the line, intruder!"

"We are members of the B48 Planetary Guard! Lay down your—ugh!"

Before he could finish, his abdomen buckled under a crushing blow. His body slammed into the ground, a plume of dust erupting in his wake.

"Commander Karlos!"

"You talk too much," Lothar said with a sneer, shaking the dust from his fist.

"Everyone—attack together!"

The eight warriors behind Karlos exchanged glances, igniting their internal energy. Eight radiant beams spiraled into one, amplifying tenfold as they surged toward the smirking prince.

"Fools."

Lothar raised his right hand. A wave of invisible ki burst from beneath his feet and stormed the sky.

BOOM!

A blinding, colossal energy beam erupted—completely erasing the eight warriors.

"No!!"

Karlos staggered to his feet, eyes bloodshot with rage. His body ignited in flame as he launched himself straight at Lothar.

What is this?

Lothar froze—an inexplicable force had locked him in place. A moment later, Karlos was right in front of him.

"Face judgment, invader!"

With eyes ablaze and emerald pupils gleaming with triumph, Karlos rammed into Lothar, hurling them both toward the palace grounds!

"Prince Lothar!!!"

Back on the command ship, The Other shrieked as he saw the prince engulfed in flame, drawing a side glance from Ebony Maw.

"It's time we joined him," Thanos said calmly, tapping his index finger against his throne's armrest. His expression held not a trace of worry.

"Yes, Lord Thanos."

...

B48 Planet – Royal Palace Courtyard.

A fiery comet crashed into the plaza, blasting up a storm of dust.

"That's all you've got?"

As the smoke cleared, Lothar emerged, completely unscathed. One hand gripped the unconscious Karlos like a discarded rag, which he casually tossed toward the waiting defenders.

"Stop right there, intruder! This place is not yours to set foot upon!"

The voice was solemn, dignified—a final warning.

Lothar's response?

He crushed the nearest warrior beneath his heel.

His movement was so fast that none in the plaza had time to react. When they did, their faces were frozen in disbelief.

The man under Lothar's boot had once been hailed, thirty years ago, as B48's Fastest and Strongest.

"That guy really is a wrecking ball wherever he goes," Astra muttered from the sidelines, bloodied and shackled like a slave. Still, a smirk curled at his lips, and his eyes gleamed with satisfaction.

"Hand over the Infinity Stone. Now."

With one foot on the fallen warrior, his aura radiating raw power, Lothar swept his gaze over the crowd. A cold grin curved his lips as he issued his demand.

The entire courtyard fell silent.

Only the so-called Fastest and Strongest continued to twitch in pain beneath his boot.

So… the ancestors' fears have finally come true…

Within the palace, the elder seated on the Crystal Throne wore a grim expression. He slowly closed his eyes and took a deep breath before issuing the command:

"All forces—prepare for maximum alert!"

"No need."

The voice was calm—yet it shattered the skies.

Before the elder could react, a beam of rainbow light split the palace dome.

"What?!"

His eyes widened in shock.

From the center of that radiant beam stepped a towering figure—skin a deep violet, clad in golden armor, a massive blade in his right hand. His voice struck like thunder beside the elder's ears:

"Hand over the Infinity Stone. Now."
