Chapter 120 - The Wrath of Fire and the Abyss of Transfiguration (120)

"Hahahahaha!" Gabriel cackled in the air, exhilaration coursing through him as he used two of his hands to grab the old man while the other two chanted. He was out here spamming Kido spells mid-fight like some kind of cracked-out battle mage.

This was so freaking fun.

No one could fully understand the bliss he was feeling.

He wanted more.

{MORE.}

His crimson eyes burned like hellfire, drenched in the blood of countless innocent victims.

Gabriel raised his hand, charging up a full-power Cero.

Aiming it at the old man.

He compressed the Cero into a ball.

"CERO."

As the attack launched, the old man used Shunpo to get out of the way.

"It seems like your aim is decreasing, Hollow," the old man said in a gruff voice.

"I wasn't aiming for you."

Yamamoto's eyes widened, watching as the ball of energy hurtled toward the center of Soul Society.

With this much power behind it... Soul Society would be no more.

It would be reduced to nothing but ashes. Even Gabriel's own men would perish in this attack.

Yet Gabriel knew Yamamoto was soft, he wouldn't let it hit soul society, he was able to deduce quite easily.

Plus, Gabriel own man will not get hurt much, sure it will drain them a bit, but the attack won't kill them, the second it detect their hollow nature it will stop.

Once his attack made contact, it would rapidly age everything within 5000 feet of the impact point, both on the ground and in the air. Basically... the end of Soul Society.

The old man had no choice but to Shunpo in front of the ball.

"Zanka no Tachi, Kita: Tenchi Kaijin."

Yamamoto manifested flames around the blade of Zanka no Tachi, then slashed at the Cero, generating an enormous wave of fire that obliterated everything it touched.

KABOOM.

Gabriel appeared behind the old man.

"Abyssal Fracture."

As his fist made contact with the old man's back once more, sparks of lightning crackled in the air.

Yamamoto coughed up blood as his body was sent flying toward the heart of his kingdom—the place he had protected for over two thousand years.

Gabriel glanced at his hand, burnt to a crisp. But with his high-speed regeneration, he was back to 100% in seconds. He bounced in the air like a boxer hyped up before a match, eager to throw hands again.

'His output is decreasing.'

Gabriel mused to himself. Sure, the old man could kill him if he landed a direct hit, but Gabriel had been chipping away at him since the fight started. With two Abyssal Fractures landed, the old man's power had dropped to roughly 80% of its usual amount. So... about eight more to drop him to zero.

But just one more—to sever his link with his Zanpakuto.

Gabriel had a rough guess that Yamamoto's absurdly strong bond with his Zanpakuto was the reason he felt resistance when he attempted to break it. They weren't just master and weapon. They were one.

Hm.

No biggie.

Meanwhile, Yamamoto gazed up at Gabriel, the Hollow looking almost pristine, aside from a few burns he couldn't heal just yet. Apart from that, he was as good as new.

Meanwhile, Yamamoto himself... was a mess. His left hand was gone. His power had dropped to 80%. His bond with his Zanpakuto was being eroded.

And he could feel the embers of his Bankai flickering, weakening.

Glancing at his blade, he saw small chips forming in the once-flawless steel.

This was proving more dangerous than he had anticipated.

That last attack... had it landed, it would have wiped out Soul Society.

But in that instant, when he had countered the Cero...

The old man saw it.

Gabriel's presence had changed for a split second, becoming something even more demonic.

The old man heard chanting...

The boy was preparing another barrage of Kido, two hands free while the other two formed seals, his mouth and even his belly chanting simultaneously.

"Hadō #99. Goryūtenmetsu."

"Hadō #88. Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō."

"Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens."

"Hadō #73. Sōren Sōkatsui."

Wow... how the fuck was this fair?

Once again, the old man was on the back foot.

But no.

If you thought that the great Captain-Commander would just bend over and take it like a good little boy, you were mistaken.

Yamamoto Shunpo'd behind Gabriel.

Gabriel turned—

And as he did so, he saw it.

The old man had both fists raised.

Hm.

Gabriel tried to dodge. You know, BZZZT—BOOM! Sonido away.

Yet... he couldn't.

Something was holding him in place.

As if on instinct, both his lower mouth and the two serpentine appendages at his sides chanted simultaneously—

"Bakudō #81. Dankū."

The second the barrier formed—

The old man's fists crashed into it.

"Sōkotsu."

KABOOM.

Gabriel's body flew through the air, crashing through multiple buildings, leaving nothing but destruction in his wake.

He coughed up blood. His vision blurred as his life flashed before his eyes.

As for his current state?

Half his body had been utterly destroyed. Blood pooled around him, his spiritual pressure fluctuating violently.

He had almost died.

If not for his chanting, that attack would have forced him to retreat.

Struggling to his feet, Gabriel coughed up more blood, his grin never fading.

Yamamoto Shunpo'd in front of him.

"You fought well... but not well enough," the old man said, raising his blade for the final strike.

Gabriel, meanwhile, was deep in his own mind.

Even if he died here, he would just respawn. But would he risk dying here?

His wife was here.

He refused that fate.

Yet, at the same time...

Something felt off.

As if something had changed the future.

He should have been able to dodge that attack.

Yet... something held him in place.

With a bloodied smile, standing at the precipice of death and staring into the shape of his own soul—

He refused to let the fun die here.

Slamming his hand on the ground, he invoked his Truth ability.

The ground beneath him writhed.

Like a living entity, the stone screeched and twisted, morphing into something unnatural.

It coiled around his legs like an abomination of flesh and stone, spikes and blades erupting from beneath his feet.

Gabriel's grin widened.

Yamamoto leaped back instantly, wary.

Gabriel opened his mouth—his hands still chanting—

Hundreds, if not thousands, of barrier Kido spells materialized around them, sealing the battlefield completely.

The old man wasn't going anywhere.

Gabriel's hands began moving.

His upper right hand formed a mudra by extending the index and middle fingers together, while the thumb, ring, and pinky curled inward.

Simultaneously, his upper left hand mirrored the motion—but its fingers twisted unnaturally, bending at grotesque angles.

His lower right hand clenched into a rigid fist, veins bulging as cracks of burning Reishi snaked along his forearm.

The final motion came from his lower left hand, which slowly opened, palm facing upward—revealing an eerie, blinking eye embedded in the center.

As all four hands aligned, his upper hands suddenly snapped together in a crushing motion—

Forming the ultimate seal.

A grotesque prayer-like gesture, his fingers intertwining in the shape of a skeletal jaw snapping shut.

"Domain Expansion: Jigoku Daihōjō (地獄大法廷, 'Infernal Grand Tribunal')."

In the middle of the battlefield, a barrier stood, shrouded in mystery. Whatever was happening inside remained a secret, and no one could sense the presence of either Gabriel or Yamamoto. Yet, the entire area resonated with the echoes of their clash within the barrier.

Any Shinigami foolish enough to touch it was instantly transformed; it seemed the barrier was infused with Gabriel's technique.

Domain Expansion: Jigoku Daihōjō (地獄大法廷, "Infernal Grand Tribunal")

Classification: Absolute Transfiguration Domain

Effect: The moment the domain activates, Gabriel becomes the ultimate authority. The battlefield is overwritten into a twisted hellscape, where everything—matter, energy, and souls—are subject to his will.

Domain Abilities:1. Absolute Transfiguration – "Irredeemable Conviction" (万死の判決, "Banshi no Hanketsu")

The moment an entity enters the domain, their soul is already marked for transfiguration.

No evasion. No resistance. No matter where they stand, their body and spirit slowly distort, warping into grotesque new forms.

This effect ignores physical durability, reiatsu defenses, and barriers—it acts directly on the soul itself.

2. The Flesh of Hell – "Abyssal Maw" (深淵の顎, "Shin'en no Agito")

The ground shifts into writhing flesh, swallowing the landscape into an endless chasm of suffering souls.

Buildings, corpses, even Reishi itself is consumed, feeding the ever-expanding abyss beneath Gabriel's feet.

3. The Condemnation of the Damned – "Eternal Sentencing" (永劫審判, "Eigō Shinpan")

Any enemy inside the domain experiences continuous transfiguration—their bodies stretch, contort, and mutate into twisted, agonized forms.

Those who try to resist or fight back are met with instantaneous soul-warping ruptures, causing them to implode or fuse into the very fabric of the domain.

4. Escape is Impossible – "Hell's Final Decree" (地獄の最終令, "Jigoku no Saishūrei")

The moment Gabriel clasps his hands together, the domain is locked.

There is no breaking free, no shattering of the space—the only way out is for Gabriel to end it.

Hand Seal for Activation: "Infernal Judgment Seal" (地獄審判印, "Jigoku Shinpan-in")

Gabriel clasps his two hands together into a demonic prayer-like gesture, fingers intertwining into a complex symbol resembling twisted, interwoven bones.

The moment the seal is formed, the entire area collapses into the domain.

Hand Seal for Activation – "Infernal Judgment Seal" (地獄審判印, Jigoku Shinpan-in)

When Gabriel activates his Domain Expansion, his four hands move in eerie synchronization, performing the intricate seal that commands the descent of hell itself.

First, his upper right hand forms a mudra by extending the index and middle fingers together, while the thumb, ring, and pinky curl inward—a gesture symbolizing judgment.

Simultaneously, his upper left hand mirrors the motion, but its fingers are twisted unnaturally, bent backward at grotesque angles—signifying the corruption of souls.

His lower right hand clenches into a rigid fist, veins bulging as cracks of burning Reishi snake along his forearm, representing absolute dominion.

The final motion comes from his lower left hand, which slowly opens, palm facing upward, revealing an eerie, blinking eye embedded in the center—a symbol of the abyssal judgment awaiting all within.

As all four hands align, his two upper hands suddenly snap together in a crushing motion, forming the ultimate seal—a grotesque prayer-like gesture where his fingers intertwine in the shape of a skeletal jaw snapping shut.

The moment the Infernal Judgment Seal is completed, the air distorts, a hellish tremor erupts beneath their feet, and the world is consumed by Jigoku Daihōjō.
