By the time Ashton and Mr. Maximus Blackwood made their way back to the banquet hall, the space was already buzzing with people. The room had filled up, the hum of chatter and the clinking of glasses echoing off the elegant walls.
Ashton returned to his table, his gaze instantly landing on Danelle, who sat with her eyes glued to her phone screen. She didn't even glance up when she sensed his presence beside her.
