Chapter 27 - Our Battle Shall Be Legendary!!!-2

The Forest was trembling.

Rocks rolled down shattered cliffsides. Trees bent under the invisible pressure of the shockwaves that continued to ripple through the forest. Animals—beasts and predators alike—fled the area with wild eyes, sensing something their instincts screamed to avoid.

And at the center of it all stood a man.

The one, the only, the Supreme Xandros Darkhaven. {A/N: I know, guys, I just like him a lot}

The golden staff hummed in the air behind him, floating at his back as if suspended by invisible strings. His palms were empty now, but his eyes glowed faintly with power. Sparks of psychic light danced around his temples.

He had activated Telekinesis.

In front of him, three King-class beasts were regrouping, all injured, but far from done. The red-furred gorilla pounded the ground in frustration, blood staining its thick fur. The serpent's body twitched erratically, huge gashes lining its scaled midsection. The rhinobear's left forelimb was bent at an unnatural angle, but it snorted furiously, its rage drowning any sense of caution.

"Round two," Xandros muttered, his voice calm and composed. "Let's see how well you can dance."

Without warning, the staff shot forward like a bolt of divine lightning. Controlled solely by his telekinetic grip, it arced around Xandros with frightening speed and precision, slamming into the rhinobear's armored side with a concussive boom that split the ground beneath it.

The rhinobear let out a distorted cry as it was hurled into a distant cliffside, the mountain behind it fracturing on impact.

At the same moment, Xandros blurred forward, engaging the gorilla with hand-to-hand combat. His fists moved like streaks of lightning, each strike enhanced by his overwhelming strength and refined technique. The gorilla responded in kind, swinging with monstrous force, but Xandros weaved through the blows like water through cracks.

As they clashed, the golden staff, guided purely by thought, reappeared above the serpent—shrunk mid-air—then expanded with devastating force as it slammed downward like a divine judgment.

BOOM.

The Earth shattered. A massive crater formed. Debris launched into the sky like volcanic shrapnel.

(Morgana POV)

From her vantage point atop a high ridge, Morgana stood still, eyes narrowed as she watched the chaos unfolding in the far distance. What had started as mere tremors had evolved into something unmistakable—a battle that could only be described as cataclysmic.

Clouds of smoke rose into the sky. Jagged craters marked the land like scars. And then she saw it—faint but unmistakable—golden flashes and tremors of psychic pressure.

"That's... him," she murmured, her brows drawing together.

She had expected arrogance, maybe even cowardice, just like every other praised individual. But this? This was strength. Real, overwhelming strength.

Still, she didn't gape. She didn't lose composure. Morgana was many things, but easily impressed wasn't one of them, but this, for someone in her era, might bring forth such a reaction.

However, her voice did carry a faint trace of surprise when she said, "He's not even using full power... and yet, the forest might not survive this."

(Instructor POV – Observation Deck)

Inside the levitating crystal spire overlooking the entire forest zone, the assessment instructors were in chaos. One by one, screens across the walls flickered with seismic readouts, mana spikes, and aerial visuals of the destruction.

"What in the heavens is going on down there?" one instructor demanded, eyes wide.

Another stared at the readings, stunned. "We're detecting mountain-level mana eruptions… but no recorded artifact or anomaly in that section could explain this."

"Zoom in on the source," ordered Instructor Velasquez, the woman in charge of the inner-section assessment.

The image cleared—and there he was.

Xandros, his hands behind his back, fighting barehanded while his staff moved independently, carving arcs of golden destruction through monsters large enough to flatten castles.

"…That staff," Velasquez whispered, eyes narrowing. "It's alive with telekinetic flow. But his focus… It's split across four simultaneous vectors. No visible effort. No strain."

"How is that possible for an upcoming first-year?" someone asked.

"It shouldn't be."

(Host POV – Hall of Observation)

High above, within a separate golden dome that hovered over the forest, sat the Host of the assessment—a man cloaked in robes, a face that has seen countless wonders this galaxy has to offer. For the first time in a long time, he was focused.

He was silent.

Until now.

With a flick of his fingers, he paused all other projections and focused every visual feed on the chaos below.

His voice, soft and measured, rang through the private communication line.

"Darkhaven… Just who are you?"

(Back to Battle)

Xandros dodged a crushing blow from the gorilla and leapt backwards just as the serpent lunged again. Mid-air, he twisted his body, catching the floating staff with one hand before hurling it forward again.

It split into two—an illusion through speed and precision. One strike caught the gorilla across the face, sending it sprawling into a boulder. The other jabbed the serpent mid-coil, driving it into the earth once more.

With his hand extended, Xandros motioned upward.

The staff responded.

Expand.

It shot skyward—growing until its tip pierced through the clouds. The entire forest went still for half a second.

Then he brought it down.

BOOOOOOM.

The staff descended like a pillar from heaven, slamming into the ground between the beasts. The shockwave was cataclysmic. Mountains in the distance split, ridgelines collapsed, and trees for miles were flattened. The sky itself flickered with residual energy.

The beasts were buried beneath tons of rubble, but even then, they were not dead.

The rhinobear erupted from the cliff it had been buried in, roaring in raw defiance. Blood leaked from its mouth, but it charged again, eyes filled with animalistic wrath.

The serpent—partially crushed—slithered up what remained of a shattered peak, then launched itself like a missile toward Xandros.

The gorilla leapt from above, trying to pin him from the sky.

Three monsters.

Three directions.

Simultaneous assault.

And yet, he smiled.

He raised his hand slowly—and the staff returned to him, floating gently into his palm.

"Well then…" Xandros said, his voice calm, steady. "Let's turn it up a notch."

His aura flared for the first time—an invisible dome of pressure that bent the light around him. Gold mixed with violet. The wind howled in response.

And then—

He vanished.

With a sonic boom that cracked open the ground beneath where he had stood, he appeared in front of the rhinobear, catching its charge with a palm strike that stopped the creature mid-run. Before the impact could finish vibrating, the staff curved mid-air, wrapped around the bear's body like a whip, and threw it into the side of a nearby mountain—crack. Another peak collapsed.

He spun and kicked the serpent mid-air, redirecting its flight path toward the same mountain. Another explosion. Fire and debris.

He turned to meet the gorilla's punch with his own, fists colliding like titans. The impact leveled the nearby hills.

Even then… his armor hadn't even cracked.

From afar, Jason, Andrew, Morgana, Ronald, and several other participants stared in wide-eyed silence, hiding behind what remained of a once-thick boulder. Jason's jaw was slack, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Dude… Is this an assessment or a war declaration?"

Ronald simply nodded, muttering, "He's fighting King-class beasts like it's morning stretches."

(Back at the spire)

Instructor Velasquez finally spoke, her voice quiet.

"Notify the Headmaster. This boy… no, this monster—he needs a special evaluation. We can't rank him with the others."

The screen flickered one final time, showing Xandros standing amidst three roaring beasts, his hands crossed with a smirk on his face and his staff glowing brighter than ever. {A/N: Bro is Aura Farming 🤧}

And the mountain behind him… was gone.

To be continued.
