Chapter 14 - THE BEGINNING OF IT ALL: The choices of destiny – CH14

Everyone knows the tragic story of how one of the most powerful kingdoms, the Kingdom of Tordontos, came to an end. We have heard about the vile and dirty acts of its inhabitants, who were supposedly very advanced; their souls were corrupted, and a kingdom that gained superiority through its expansionist policy was so strong in its time that only the Glimmerians, called the superior race, were capable of standing up to King Tordontos' expansionist plans. Then, in the midst of it all, a world war broke out to obtain the riches of those lands in conflict: the kingdom of the elves, Zephyria; the land of the therianthropes, human beasts from the Kingdom of Eldoria, who had evolved to a higher consciousness and formed a society in the west. But with each generation that passed over the years, they could not reach a peace agreement, so since then, there were many wars to gain a little more land; many innocent people were brutally murdered and stripped of their possessions. At that time, the influence of a filthy environment was forming in the heart of every living being on the lands of this continent.

Envy, lust, pride, greed, wrath, gluttony, and the worst among them all, malice. A perfect environment to attract the vilest entity among the dimensions of this universe, an entity without a name, without gender, a changing being with multiple faces. This world fell into so many wars that it was too late for its salvation: once decent elves sank into all kinds of immoral acts; honest but misjudged therianthropes, some perhaps unjustly enslaved by humans, now lived in mental poverty, trafficking their own kin, and entire kingdoms were turned into brothels; and humans… that weak but once respected race for their leadership and cunning that led them to glory, now did not even represent the shadow of the word respect. I recount that in some of their towns, lust reached such a point that neither the time, the place, nor the principles taught by shame itself mattered.

Such an unpleasant and completely filthy world caught the attention of a being equal to or worse than such acts; that entity set its sights on the earth. It has some names: the queen of the underworld, the unnameable. On the day of its first appearance, the gates of hell opened, and all beings on this earth were first exposed to corruption. Apart from decay, the lands of Tordontos were the perfect place to sow what 550 years later would become the bane of all humanity: an outbreak coming directly from the most feared dimension in the universe, the underworld.

But from the ashes, a hero was born, exiled from his land for defending humans, therianthropes, and elves from that powerful being. When the hero defended the earth from entering a dark age, the whole world hailed him as the protector. But in reality, that protection was always a farce, a pact, a contract that no one is aware of except the very actors who maintain law and order. Everyone in that era knew his name, but after the last purification war, that massacre of the Supaibi—some call them the first ones, who have always dominated, beings completely pure in intention, with so much power that it was never necessary to settle differences between races by force; they were the race with enough power to confront the underworld's dominion over humans.

But everything changed the day a new Glimmerian was born, belonging to the high spheres of the kingdom of ancient Glimmeria. The day his father and mother died in lands lost to the advance of the princes of the underworld and their troops, the feeling of revenge and anger consumed the heart of that young king, and from that day it was forbidden for any Supaibi to ally with or defend human affairs, and he sentenced to death any Supaibi who dared to get involved in foreign conflicts. The course of destiny shifted towards a path where the peace maintained by the protectors, one after another, would no longer exist. And once again, conflicts spiraled out of control between everyone and everything; a war was declared by Montesis II, king of Montesis, the supposed last war that would end all wars, the purification war.

After the last war, there was a moment of peace; the human race changed, there was an outbreak of humans who developed what they call powers. By a miracle, a race without magical potential was able to develop natural and unnatural abilities without the need for conjuring, similar to the incredible capabilities of the Supaibi, and a new world order was born. New kingdoms arose, new ambitions were established, new ideologies on how to lead were born; humanity emerged as one of the most dominant races over all other races. Many books were burned, the heads of many opposing artists were cut off, many influential people disappeared for telling a different narrative.

Nevertheless, in the depths of darkness, envy and revenge were brewing, but above all, an evil that eagerly awaited awakening. Many today have no knowledge of that nameless entity; only among the most influential and powerful is it forbidden to pronounce its true name. It was forbidden to mention its motivations and its presence in this world; all kings and queens in this world may have their differences, but the secret of the trauma that entity instilled in each of them remains latent to this day as a persistent nightmare that highlights atrocities, calamities, and countless fears. And that's why… They covered its dreadful name with one less descriptive of its true being: Malice.

Little by little, the nations closest to the ancient lands of the Kingdom of Tordontos—now consumed by roots and enormous vegetation—built barriers to stop the advance of the Corruption emerging from a forest intent on expanding and infesting the whole world: the so-called Forest of the Seven Kingdoms, a small gift from the underworld. To this day, no nation or kingdom knows how to reclaim what has already been taken by this presence; they only manage to hold it back with a barrier developed with the still-active seals of a dead, stubborn exile from his homeland. He had so much power that he continues to fuel these seals created by him at strategic points to stop the advance of corruption and protect the world. Today, he is hated by some kings and forgotten by the common people; we are talking about the one who was and is the last protector who defended the world.

Unfortunately, a petrified and unconscious zombie keeps the world's survival hanging by a thread that is gradually weakening before the gates of hell open again. But a bastard of impure blood was born, from the love between a human and a Supaibi, a forbidden love between those races, a completely immoral love. For the most conceited Supaibi, it was like having an affair with one of the monsters of Mount Emberfall, a land where fierce monsters like fauns, goblins, kobolds, succubi, or manticores are born. Destiny chose a half-Supaibi with a very uncommon connection to one of the two forces, two divine flows that govern the entire universe: the white point and the black point, commonly known by scholars as the Ether and the Nothing.
