Chapter 52
I let out a string of curses and sank onto the nearest crate with my head in my hands. No one moved a muscle for a beat, still processing our defeat.
Finn walked over to where I was sitting. "Alright, what's our next move?" he asked with determination. He was seemingly the only one of us with still any of that left.
I looked up at the burning mast and the deck, which had been ruined after the battle. My team crowded around me, their faces lined with exhaustion. Despite everything that had happened, we were still stuck on a ship that was bobbing in midair with no plans of coming back to the surface.
"Next move?" I scoffed. "Look around you Finn," I said, waving a hand at the destruction. "We just lost. The trident is gone, and we do no know where Donald could be by now. It's over."
I had lost all hope at that point, and I just wanted to get off this ship.
"But we can't give up, Sam," Finn said, his voice full of conviction.
