The young woman gave him another confused look.
"Which one, sir?" She asked. "I believe you have undergone multiple surgeries since your time in the army."
"Well, a long time ago, while I was deployed in western Tenebrosa, my squad and I went out to eat in one of the local restaurants. At the time, I didn't know that I was allergic to brown pepper, so when my stomach caught fire and my lungs stopped working, our first conclusion was that the locals tried to poison me."
"That's… a tragic story. I can imagine what kind of reaction your mates had."
"Don't worry, we didn't make any rash decisions, thankfully. One of my good friends knew about the allergy and quickly defused the situation. If he hadn't interfered back then, I would have died, and the local chef and his family would have suffered a worse fate."
"That's good to hear…" Pausing, Isabelle then raised an eyebrow. "But… how could an allergy lead to a surgery?"
