"A gun? I haven't been targeted by a firearm in a long time."
With a calm smile, Rocks stepped forward, his eyes locked onto the trembling Celestial Dragon.
Seeing him approach, the Celestial Dragon—Saint Chuck—gritted his teeth and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
"Go to hell, you filthy pariah!"
His lips curled into a cruel grin, fully expecting the bullet to pierce Rocks' skull and end him in a single shot.
But what happened next defied all logic.
Clink!
Rocks grinned as he caught the bullet mid-air, his fingers crushing it effortlessly before letting the fragments fall to the ground.
Saint Chuck's eyes widened in horror. "Impossible…!"
"Stay back, you disgusting lowlife!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Celestial Dragon fired round after round in blind panic. Yet, none of them found their mark. Each bullet was either caught or deflected with ease.
And then—
CRACK!
Rocks smashed the bubble helmet on Saint Chuck's head and seized him by the throat.
The black-clad bodyguards flanking the Celestial Dragon froze in place. Their training told them to act, but their instincts screamed at them to run.
"So this is what the World Government, with all its power, chooses to raise? Pathetic." Rocks sneered.
"L-Let me go, you disgusting filth!" Saint Chuck choked out, thrashing violently. Despite being hoisted into the air, his face was filled with arrogance rather than fear.
"The world's ruler will soon change. I'll wipe out you so-called gods… every last one of you."
SNAP!
The Celestial Dragon's neck twisted at an unnatural angle. His lifeless body crumpled before being tossed overboard.
As soon as their "god" perished, the bodyguards' will shattered. In mere moments, the rest of the Rocks crew slaughtered them without resistance.
With the enemies dealt with, the crew turned their attention to loot.
After all, a Celestial Dragon's ship was bound to contain immense wealth.
They quickly made their way below deck, searching for valuables.
Ayr, Golden Lion, Whitebeard, and Charlotte Linlin, however, ignored the ordinary treasures and pressed deeper into the ship.
Creak!
Ayr pushed open a heavy wooden door—revealing a dimly lit chamber filled with cages.
Inside, countless slaves sat huddled together, their bodies scarred and broken.
"Hey, these guys look strong!" One of the pirates grinned.
"Of course. The Celestial Dragons only take the best slaves." Another crew member kicked the bars of a cage, sneering at the prisoners.
A scarred, muscular slave lifted his head.
"You're wasting your time."
The pirate smirked. "Wanna make a deal? You fight me, you win, you go free."
A cruel laughter spread among the crew.
"Come on, these slaves don't stand a chance!"
"You're just looking for an excuse to kill something, aren't you?"
"Hahaha! What's wrong with that?"
Fear gripped the prisoners, but the Rocks Pirates showed no mercy. The fights began—a twisted game of survival.
Yet, Ayr and the strongest of the crew had no interest in these trivial amusements. They moved toward the farthest part of the chamber, searching for something of greater value.
Just as they reached a heavy, iron door—
"You… are from the Rocks crew, aren't you?"
Ayr's sharp gaze snapped toward the voice.
Inside a rusted cage sat an old man—his body frail, his clothes tattered, but his eyes burned with a strange intensity.
Even with his weakened state, Ayr could tell—this man was no ordinary prisoner.
Golden Lion scoffed. "Who the hell are you?"
The old man ignored the question, his lips curling into a knowing smile.
"I once heard a prophecy… that someone from the Rocks crew will become the world's hegemon."
Silence filled the chamber.
Then—
"Jihahahaha!" Golden Lion roared with laughter. "The world's overlord? That sounds like me!"
Unlike the later generations, this was an era of conquest, not a mere pursuit of treasure or freedom. There was no "Pirate King"—only those who sought dominion over all.
Charlotte Linlin leaned closer, intrigued. "Oh? And just who are you, old man?"
The prisoner gave a small chuckle.
"Me? I'm just a scholar who has traveled the seas for a long time."
Rocks stepped forward, his hands behind his back, a small smirk playing on his lips.
"Then tell me… who exactly will become this world hegemon?"
Rocks did not believe in prophecies.
But still… his interest was piqued.
After all, his goal was to become that very ruler.
The old man shook his head. "I do not know their name. But the prophecy was clear—one among the Rocks Pirates will one day rise to rule the world."
Rocks' smirk widened.
"Interesting."
Then, the old man's voice dropped to a whisper.
"If you free me… I will give you something far greater than gold. A secret that will give your crew the power to rule the world."
