Nathan's POV
Slowly, my eyes fluttered open, and what first caught my attention was the familiar ceiling—my ceiling. I groaned and took a deep breath, and then I noticed someone was seated on the stool beside me… she seemed familiar… oh, I remembered—it was the healer.
She flashed me a friendly smile before speaking. "How are you feeling?"
I didn't respond immediately; rather, I forced myself to sit on my bed. My body still ached with pain, but it wasn't as bad as it was before I went unconscious. I remembered what happened and how I fell into unconsciousness.
I had knelt all through the night, and when dawn came, Garv released me. While trying to get up, I collapsed—and that was how I lost consciousness.
"Thank goodness you are awake. Alpha Derrick has been so worried about you," the healer said.
My brows furrowed as I processed her words.
Alpha Derrick has been so worried about you.
