Chapter 156 - 155: A Single Kick Shattered...

Nino saw her father being beaten and pushed Takashi away, wanting to run over.

"Don't go, it's dangerous over there."

Takashi grabbed her and stopped her.

"Let go of me!"

Nino tried to shake off Takashi's hand, but after several attempts, she couldn't succeed.

There's an inherent difference in strength between men and women.

Not to mention, Takashi trains his body every day.

"You stay here, I'll go save him. Damn, why are you biting me?"

Takashi wanted Nino to stay put while he went to rescue her father.

However, Nino, being stubborn, bit his arm when she couldn't break free, not even letting him finish his sentence.

With sharp teeth sinking into his flesh, Takashi grimaced in pain: "I said I'll go save him! Can't you understand human language?"

He hadn't even saved anyone yet, but had already been bitten by the daughter. Seriously, what a bad day.

Nino, hearing his words, sheepishly released his arm and muttered, "Sorry."

However, Takashi didn't hear her apology because he was already charging forward.

He pushed his way through the crowd that had gathered to watch and leapt into the air, delivering a powerful Leo flying kick to the man on top of Nakano Maruo.

Takashi kicked the man flying. He didn't stop there.

He didn't think this man was someone who could be reasoned with.

Takashi was a reasonable person who liked to talk things out. Of course, if reasoning didn't work, he knew a thing or two about fighting like a mad dog.

He swung his arms, raised his leg, and aimed for the crotch.

One kick shatters your Dragon Ball dream

"Ahhhhhhh!!!"

The next second, the hospital was filled with a scream sharper than that of the female nurse earlier.

In the hospital director's office, Nakano Maruo refused Nino's help in applying medicine and instead did it himself in front of the mirror.

"Dad, why did that guy hit you?"

"He was dissatisfied with my treatment results and held a grudge."

Nakano Maruo said it so casually, as though he weren't the one being beaten.

He had encountered patients like this many times before.

Some people think hospitals should be able to cure all diseases, and if they don't, it's the hospital's fault.

This mindset causes them to take extreme actions like medical disputes when things don't go well with their treatment.

Nino, hearing such an absurd excuse, couldn't help but curse, "He's crazy!"

"Making it sound like you're deliberately not treating him properly."

"If I could cure him, would I not treat him? Is he out of his mind?"

Takashi didn't react much to Nino's cursing.

He'd seen similar situations countless times in the news.

Wasn't there once a blind man who, dissatisfied with the outcome of a surgery, tried to stab Doctor Tao?

Nakano Maruo didn't comment, but after applying the medicine, he turned to look at Takashi, who had been staring at his tea cup.

"Thank you so much today. Can you tell me your name?"

"I am Kitaha–Watanabe Takashi. Mr. Nakano, you can call me Takashi."

Takashi instinctively wanted to say his name but then changed his mind after a moment of thought.

"Watanabe-kun! May I ask, what is your relationship with Nino now?"

Nakano Maruo's gaze was intense as he stared at Takashi, his whole presence exuding an aura that gave Takashi the feeling of meeting his future father-in-law for the first time.

"Are you boyfriend and girlfriend?"

Nino's face turned as red as fire, and she screamed, "Dad, what are you saying?"

"Nino?"

Takashi looked at her with a perfectly timed expression of surprise.

"Aren't you Miku?"

Nino's face stiffened.

She almost forgot she was currently pretending to be Nakano Miku.

"Miku?"

Nakano Maruo looked at Nino with confusion, not understanding why she said she was Miku.

"Dad, you really… How could you mix me up with Miku?"

Nino complained while throwing a series of frantic glances at her father, signaling him not to expose her secret.

Nakano Maruo, who could never lie, simply fell silent.

"But…" Before Takashi could say anything further, Nino pushed him out the door.

"Watanabe-kun, isn't your sister still waiting for you? You've been gone so long; she's probably getting anxious."

Bang!

The door slammed shut with a heavy sound as Nino leaned against it, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Nino, why are you pretending to be Miku?"

Nakano Maruo looked calmly at his daughter, waiting for an explanation.

Nino bit her pink lips, hesitating over whether or not she should tell her father that she had discovered Watanabe Takashi and Miku were in a relationship.

But since Miku didn't want to talk about it, it meant she didn't want her relationship exposed.

If Nino said something, Miku would probably get angry, right?

"If you don't want to say it, I won't ask."

Nakano Maruo waited for his daughter to speak but seeing her silence, he didn't push any further.

"Thank you, Father."

"By the way, don't tell Ichika and the others about today. I'm afraid they'll worry."

"Okay."

Just as Takashi entered the infusion hall, he accidentally bumped into Eriri.

Eriri looked up and saw Takashi. Her anxious heart slowly calmed down, like a lost child finding their way home—stable and at peace.

But soon, she glared at him, angry. "Where have you been? Why did you come back so late?"

"I went to do the right thing."

Takashi told Eriri what had happened earlier.

Of course, he left out the details about what happened with Nino.

"That doctor getting beaten, what does it have to do with you?"

"What's with the show of strength?"

"What if you got hurt?"

Eriri's mood didn't lighten after hearing the story; instead, she started scolding him.

"Next time, don't do that, got it?"

Takashi raised his hand to his brow and gave her a salute, "Roger!"

Seeing Takashi acting so serious yet playful, Eriri found it surprisingly funny.

"Are you done with the IV?"

"Already done."

"Then let's go. I'll take you home."

Takashi started walking, but Eriri stayed where she was, not moving.

"Hm? What's wrong?"

Eriri quickly glanced down, not explaining why she wasn't moving, clearly leaving him to guess.

Takashi, skilled in reading comprehension and understanding women's psychology, immediately understood her meaning.

He crouched down, patted his back, and said, "Hop on, princess."

Eriri suddenly smiled, her expression as bright as sunlight shining on a beautiful lily.

She knew it.

Even if she didn't say anything, with the understanding between them, he would understand her feelings.

No one understood her better than Watanabe Takashi.

No matter the time or place, he always catered to her.

Eriri flopped onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. "Let's go back home."

"Alright."

Takashi carried her and started walking toward the hospital exit.

"By the way, I bought some meat buns. Do you want some?"

"Sure."

For some reason, from yesterday until now, her stomach hadn't been very hungry, but suddenly, she felt quite hungry.

It seemed that being with him made her appetite better.

Eriri took a few bites, then thought for a moment before bringing the meat bun to Takashi's mouth.

"You must be hungry too, carrying me around. Here, let me feed you. Ah!"

"If you're going to feed me, at least switch it up?"

"What? Are you shy because you're indirectly kissing me?"

Eriri tilted her head and teased, "How cute~"

"No, I just don't want to eat a meat bun with your saliva on it."

Takashi made a face of disgust.

"Watanabe Takashi, how dare you dislike a meat bun I've eaten! Do you want to die?"

Eriri squeezed tightly around his neck.

"I'm dead, I'm really dead!"

"Eat, eat it!"

The moonlight was like water, the stars shone brightly, and the scene of the young couple laughing and playing together was so beautiful.

Even after ten or twenty years, Eriri would still clearly remember the feeling she had at that moment.
