The result of teaching Eris chanted Water Ball magic?

The swordsmanship lesson hadn't even started, and everyone was already soaked.

The Water Ball War

It all began half an hour earlier.

The moment Eris successfully cast her first Water Ball, the atmosphere in the courtyard reached a peak of joy.

Eris was ecstatic. The mix of playing with peers and the thrill of success sent her emotions soaring.

And so, amid the chorus of "You did it!", she completely lost herself.

She ignored Rudeus' attempts to continue the lesson, gleefully firing off Water Balls that collapsed the moment they formed—

—and chanting faster and faster.

Seeing her proficiency improve, Rudeus patiently urged her to move on to the next step.

Big mistake.

In her excitement, Eris promptly splashed a Water Ball straight into his face.

Of course, this was more playful than hostile—if Eris really wanted to hit him, she wouldn't have used a harmless water blob. The memories of her actual punches (which felt like sword slashes) were still fresh in Rudeus' mind.

Wiping his face, Rudeus, recalling the effectiveness of encouragement-based teaching, tried again:

"Yes! Just like that! But, ah… it doesn't even hurt when it hits. If you want it to sting, you'll need to increase the power—adjust the mana output to set the speed and—"

Splash.

Before he could finish, Eris—eyebrows raised—slammed another Water Ball into his face.

Ask and you shall receive.

And from there… chaos erupted.

The Battle Royale

Eris, now fully committed to annihilating Rudeus (who had dared suggest she wasn't strong enough), chased him around the courtyard.

Rudeus, realizing persuasion was futile, scrambled like a panicked rabbit.

Allen, watching the chaos unfold, burst out laughing—until Eris, mid-chase, grinned and flicked a Water Ball at him.

Allen effortlessly deflected it with the Flow technique—straight into Rudeus' smug face.

Rudeus, now fully activated, retaliated with a high-speed Water Ball—

Sylphie intercepted it with Wind Blow, sending it veering off…

…only for it to plop onto Eris' head.

Eris, lips pursed, immediately splashed Sylphie in retaliation.

Sylphie, caught off guard, dripping wet, froze—

…then blushed furiously as she realized her thin white dress was now very translucent under the sunlight.

Allen, in a panic, yanked off his outer coat to shield her—

…only for Eris to seize the opening and splash him too.

Allen, now juggling protecting Sylphie and deflecting attacks, accidentally ricocheted a Water Ball—

—directly onto Ghislaine's face.

Ghislaine, unfazed, simply let the water drip off, smiling as she watched Eris—happier than she'd been in years.

By the time Eris' legs finally gave out (magic exhaustion), the courtyard looked like a monsoon had hit.

Everyone was drenched.

Aftermath

The beastgirl maids arrived with towels in record time.

Lil (the cat-eared head maid) attended to Eris and Ghislaine.

A shy bunny-eared maid approached Allen and Sylphie—

—first wrapping Sylphie in a large towel,

—then blushing as she noticed Sylphie's trembling ears.

"U-Um… Allen-sama, would you like to… accompany Sylphie-sama to change clothes?"

Allen stiffened.

"N-No! Just take Sylphie!"

"Eh? You're not coming?"

"I'M NOT!"

"…You could come too, you know?"

"I SAID NO!"

The surrounding beastgirls sighed in collective disappointment.

The bunny girl stuck out her tongue, ears perking back up, and led Sylphie—who hadn't said a word, face burning—away.

Meanwhile:

Eris, refusing to change, roughly towel-dried herself. (Her high-quality dress repelled water, leaving only slight dampness.)

Rudeus used Hot Hand to steam-dry his clothes instantly.

Then, smirking, he sidled up to Allen.

"Tch. Wasted opportunity, Allen-sama~"

"Keep talking and I'll kick you."

"Kick me? For what? Last night too, you— YOWCH! "

"Behave."

Rudeus rubbed his backside, grinning.

"Fine, fine~"

Internally, though, he was laughing.

Allen—the unshakable, deadly swordsman—turned into a flustered mess around Sylphie and Roxy.

So unlike his usual self.

…Wait.

Rudeus' smirk faltered.

Hold on.

I'm the 'experienced' one here, but—

—Allen's the one getting all the attention from girls?!

UNFAIR!

Glancing at Allen, who was still watching Sylphie's retreating figure, Rudeus wondered:

…Does he even realize how Sylphie feels about him?

Eris' "Exhaustion"

With Sylphie gone, Rudeus cautiously approached Eris—now sprawled on the grass like a very un-ladylike lump.

"Since you're out of mana… maybe now's a good time to study magic theory? So when your mana recovers, you can—"

Eris, not in the mood for boring lectures, cut him off by asking Ghislaine:

"What time is it?"

"Afternoon. You trained magic for about three hours."

"Good! Magic lesson's over! Time for swordsmanship theory!"

Rudeus palmed his face.

But before he could protest, Eris glanced at Allen and added:

"…I'll keep learning magic! Just not today! Tomorrow!"

"…Half theory, half practical tomorrow?"

Eris nodded.

Allen's Assessment

As everyone sat in a circle, Allen—finally acting like a proper Water God Style instructor—asked Ghislaine:

"What's Eris' current swordsmanship curriculum? Just Sword God Style? That night in the rain, you used North God Style's Four-Limbed Form to climb out of the swamp. How would you evaluate her overall progress?"

Ghislaine's expression turned stern.

"Eris' talent leans heavily toward Sword God Style. Her reflexes outpace her thoughts—perfect for it. But her defense, counters, and tactical awareness need work."

She hesitated.

"…These traits might make Water God Style difficult for her."

Rudeus braced for Eris' outburst—

—but it never came.

Instead, Eris stared at the grass, waiting for Allen's response.

…Was she actually nervous*?*

Sylphie's Detour

Meanwhile, inside the manor…

The bunny-eared maid led Sylphie down the hallway—but instead of heading to the first-floor teachers' quarters, they were climbing the stairs.

Sylphie, still replaying the "wet dress incident" in her mind, didn't notice until—

"H-Huh? The dorm is… downstairs…?"

She looked up—

—just as they reached the second floor.

And there, by the window, stood a figure in a crimson dress, hair coiled like flames.

Hilda.
