I smashed the lock with the butt of my knife, sending metal bits flying. The secret door beneath Charles Winters' office finally gave way after my third try.
"Got it," I whispered to myself, looking over my shoulder.
The pack house was too quiet. Most of the Blood Moon wolves were either dead, fighting The Mother's troops in the forest, or had fled. But Luther's loyalists were still out there, hunting for anyone linked to Amara.
Hunting for me.
I slipped through the secret door and down a narrow staircase. After fleeing from The Mother's prison two days ago, I'd been hiding in the woods, watching the pack house. I needed to get inside, to find the proof Charles had mentioned in his final letter to me.
