"Baron!" Cheng whispered. "What are you doing?!"
The Baron raised his hand. "I have to check something."
Why is the Baron doing this? Based on his emotion throughout the entire match, he did not seem to pick a side. Why would he pick Valen's side now? No—even if he did pick Valen's side, there was no reason to fight Liam. It would just make him seem… desperate.
But Cheng read the Baron's expression—it was not one of desperation.
At this moment, he did not know what to think or what to make of this moment.
"Cheng," the Baron said quietly, "I need you to trust me on this."
Cheng shook his head, still not knowing what the Baron was up to. I'm a Calculor! How could I not figure it out?!
"Baron, there is no reason to do this at all. The only thing that can come out of this is a negative reaction from Liam and those backing him."
