Lana sat on the bed in the new room that was now known as hers... she was still yet to come to terms with everything that was happening and she was unsure if she would be able to get a goodnight rest even though John had wished her a good night... Her job! She just gotten a new job a week prior and was super excited that she had gotten the job even though she had informed them that she wouldn't be there for long... it was a job at an arcade and she was slowly getting used to working there before everything happened..during her short stay in the city... her coworkers were nice to her and her boss was nice too, she felt bad that she left without a word... would they report her missing? She doubted that, she had only known them for a few days and she was sure they would think she ran off... If the men that brought her here knew where she lived she was sure they definitely knew where she worked too and if someone did infact report her missing, even though there was a slight chance of that, what if they stopped the person and the police from searching from her... she sighed deeply and feel flat on the bed with her back... her eyes was met with the high white ceiling to the bedroom and the first thing that popped up in her mind was it was mold free and pure white... it was a sight she wasn't sure she would definitely get used to... she was used to coming home every night to stare at her ceiling that she could barely call white and had mold on it...
She had tried her best to clean up the run down hostel she had rented because of how cheap it was, but no amount of cleaning she did made her comfortable there... the house was so small and stuffy that she couldn't wait to leave there every single day... it was suffocating and frustrating to return back there everyday... she drew in a sharp breath and let out a deep one when she remembered that stuffy feeling... her eyes blurred with tears and she quickly blinked the tears away before it could escape the corner of her eyes... lana got up from the bed and walked to the window of the room... thankfully it hadn't been bolted shut like it had been when she first tried to open it earlier that day... it seemed like someone had come into the room to open it and she had an inkling who it was... the same person who offered her the nice dessert...
She stood near the opened window and let out a deep breath when the evening breeze blew towards her and disheveled her hair around her face... only one side of the window was opened and even if she somehow fit throw it, she would end up with a broken skull if she tried to jump from the window to the ground... lana propped her head through the open window and tried to gauge her far she was from the ground... it was dark outside now, but she could still see clearly because of the light stands around the house, it was bright just right... lana fisted her hand and turned to look at the bed. If only she had something like a rope... but wasn't it too risky, what if she fell... she couldn't help but fear for her bones, but if she sat around and continue to do nothing then he would keep having the upper hand against her and think she had accepted her fate... what if he snapped again like a psycho, from what she had witnessed he was unpredictable and seemed to be mentally unaware... she didn't want to be here to witness this madness... if she fell and broke her skull at least she would die trying to gain her freedom... Lana thought and tried to lift her spirit... she had seen it multiple times in movies... and anytime she saw it, she thought it was stupid... she ran her hand through her hair and tugged in it a bit...
"I just have to make it strong enough..." lana muttered under her breath and got to work... she took the sheets from the bed and then proceeded to look through the closet... to her gratefulness, there were some pair of fresh sheets there and after searching for a while she was able to get a few things that she could tie together, including the curtains...
Lana climbed the chair in her room and was successfully able to take down two of the curtains and almost more than thirty minutes later, she was proud of what she had achieved... she made sure the knots were tied really tightly so it would be hard for it to rip or lose... "This should do..." She said and got up, ready to carry out the plan she had formulated in her head... she walked back to the window and took a deep breath as she stared into the night... it was now or never, she just hoped her DIY make do ropes were long enough...
She tucked the hair that kept flying to her face behind her hair and took another deep breath to calm herself... her eyes was filled with determination now as she slowly and quietly started to put the rope she had made down the window... she continued, her eyes filled hope and when this make do rope almost reached the ground, she was this close to yelling out in pure excitement, but covered her mouth with her free hand before she could... she had to be quiet or her plans would fail as soon as it began...
She took another deep breath because she knew she was done with that phase, she had to move to much harder phase... getting down safely... her hands gripped the rope tightly and she swallowed as she tried to find the courage to do it... "I can do this! I have to get the h*ll out of here!" She said out in a loud whisper, hoping to rile herself up...
She took a deep breath and began, her hands gripping on to the rope for dear life as she climbed up the window... thankfully one side of the window was wide enough for her to pass through...
