Chapter 85: Honeymoon in Paradise
The plane touched down smoothly on the runway in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Grant looked at Isobel with a mischievous smile on his face. She, in turn, returned his gaze with a shy but expectant smile. They were both exhausted, but excited to begin the honeymoon they had planned for the months leading up to the wedding.
As the rental car took them to the luxurious resort in Waikiki, Isobel couldn't stop admiring the scenery. The turquoise sea, the palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze, and the warm tropical sun made everything incredibly perfect.
"Grant, now I see what you mean about this being paradise," she said, taking his hand.
Grant smiled. "And I can't wait to show you around. But first, I think we'll enjoy the room for a while, shall we?"
Isobel laughed, knowing exactly what he meant.
The resort was even more beautiful than the pictures. The suite they were staying in had a spectacular view of the ocean. As they entered, Isobel dropped her bag and walked out onto the balcony, letting the ocean breeze touch her skin. Grant hugged her from behind, placing his hands on her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.
"So, what did you think?" he asked.
"Perfect," she replied, turning her head to kiss him softly.
Grant smiled against her lips. "We haven't even started yet."
After a quick shower, they both dressed in light clothes and went to dinner at the resort's restaurant. The meal was a mix of fresh seafood and tropical cocktails, but what really mattered to them was each other's company.
"Do you think you'll get some rest?" Isobel asked jokingly.
"That depends," Grant replied with a teasing smile. "Rest isn't exactly what I had in mind for this trip."
She blushed slightly, but was pleased with his response.
Back in the bedroom, the atmosphere became more intimate. Grant wasted no time in pulling her close, kissing her deeply as he carried her to the bed.
"I've been waiting for this for a long time," he whispered, sliding his hands around her waist.
"Me too," Isobel replied, giving herself completely to him.
Their first night in Hawaii was intense, full of passion and love. They laughed, whispered secrets, and stayed together until the sun began to appear on the horizon.
Over the next few days, Grant and Isobel explored Hawaii in every way possible. They hiked to hidden waterfalls, snorkeled in crystal clear waters, and sampled the local cuisine.
One day, while on a deserted beach, Isobel sat in the sand, watching Grant surf. He seemed completely at home in the ocean, and she couldn't help but fall even more in love with him.
When he returned to the sand, his board under his arm and his hair wet, she smiled.
"You look even more handsome like this, you know?"
Grant gave her a smug smile. "If I had known you liked surfers, I would have shown you that sooner."
She laughed, and he leaned closer, leaning in to kiss her.
"You're everything I've ever wanted, Isobel," he said, looking deep into her eyes.
The nights in Hawaii were always full of passion. Isobel noticed that Grant made a point of showing her how much he loved her, not just with words, but with gestures and touches.
One night, after a candlelit dinner, they went back to their room, and Isobel was clearly taken by the romantic atmosphere.
"Grant, you are the most incredible man I've ever met," she said as she hugged him.
He pulled her closer, running his hands down her back. "And you are everything to me, Isobel. I would do anything to see you happy."
They gave themselves over again, this time even more intensely, enjoying every second together.
As they walked along the beach on their last day in Hawaii, Isobel stopped and took Grant's hand.
"You were right," she said, looking out over the horizon. "This really is paradise."
Grant smiled and pulled her into a hug. "Maybe one day we can call this home."
She looked at him in surprise. "Are you serious?"
"Totally," he replied. "Imagine raising our family here, with this view every day. It sounds perfect, doesn't it?"
Isobel smiled, feeling a rush of emotion. "Yes, it does."
They walked back to the resort, hand in hand, knowing that this honeymoon was just the beginning of a life full of adventures together.
Chapter 86: Between Passion and Risk
The sun had risen a few hours ago in Hawaii, but Isobel was still lying in bed, watching Grant sleep beside her. The resort room smelled of tropical flowers mixed with the woody scent of his cologne. Grant, with his muscular arms relaxed and his serene face, looked so peaceful that Isobel had a hard time believing he was the same man who, days ago, had fiercely defended her life.
The previous night, the mood between them had been so intense that it seemed impossible to ignore the effects the next morning. Isobel shifted in bed, and a gentle twinge of pain made her grimace. "Oh my God," she murmured to herself, chuckling softly.
Grant opened his eyes, his velvety blue gaze immediately lighting up when he saw her. "Good morning, my love," he said, his voice still husky with sleep. He turned to her, running his fingers through her messy hair. "Did you sleep well?"
Isobel stared at him with a mixture of exasperation and affection. "Grant Shawn, you are a dangerous man. Sleeping well was a challenge after last night."
He let out a low chuckle, pulling her closer. "I didn't hear you complaining at the time," he teased, kissing her forehead.
"I wasn't," she replied, laughing. "But now I'm walking like I've run a marathon."
Despite the slight pain, Isobel managed to get dressed and go downstairs for breakfast with Grant. She opted for a light dress that not only disguised her unusual gait, but was also perfect for the Hawaiian heat.
As they sat at an outdoor table overlooking the ocean, the waiter brought a tray full of tropical fruits and fresh breads. Isobel picked up a cup of coffee and tried to ignore Grant's mischievous look.
"You really are proud of yourself, aren't you?" she asked, arching an eyebrow.
Grant shrugged, biting into a piece of pineapple. "I'm just glad you're feeling the effects of all my love."
She shook her head, trying not to laugh. "You're impossible."
"Impossible to resist," he replied, leaning in to kiss her softly.
After breakfast, they decided to spend the day on the resort's private beach. Isobel donned a sleek black swimsuit, while Grant opted for navy blue swim trunks. When they reached the sand, he immediately set up the lounge chairs and umbrellas so they could both relax. A
s Isobel lay down, Grant couldn't help but admire her. "You look amazing," he said, sitting down next to her.
"Thank you," she replied, putting on her sunglasses. "But maybe I should avoid any sudden movements today."
Grant laughed loudly. "I promise to behave... at least until sunset."
They spent the afternoon relaxing, enjoying the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves. Grant at one point swam out to a rock formation and returned with a white flower, which he placed in Isobel's hair.
"You're such a romantic cliché, you know?" she teased, but she was clearly enchanted.
"Only for you," he replied.
When evening came, Grant took her out to dinner at a seaside restaurant. Their table was decorated with candles and flower petals, and the sound of the waves served as the perfect soundtrack to the occasion.
"You know you're ruining all my future expectations, don't you?" Isobel said as she took a sip of wine.
"That's the plan," Grant replied, holding her hand across the table. "I want you to know that you'll never get anything less than the best with me."
She smiled, touched. "I already have the best. You."
Back in the bedroom, the mood quickly became more intimate. Grant grabbed her waist, pulling her close.
"I know you said you needed a break," he whispered, kissing her neck. "But I can't resist you."
Isobel, despite her exhaustion, smiled and pulled him onto the bed. "Just... take it easy this time, please."
Grant laughed, promising to be gentle, but they both knew the intensity between them was impossible to contain. The night was filled with passion, love, and laughter, further cementing the bond they shared.
The next morning, as they walked along the beach hand in hand, Isobel stopped and looked at Grant.
"I think this honeymoon is the best thing we've ever experienced," she said, smiling.
"And it's not over yet," he replied, kissing her on the forehead. "I can't wait to make more memories like this with you."
Isobel knew that with Grant by her side, every day would be a new adventure even if it sometimes came with a few muscle aches.
Chapter 87: New Beginnings
The New York apartment was quiet, lit by the morning light that filtered through the curtains. Isobel stood in the kitchen, stirring a bowl of fruit, trying to stave off a wave of nausea. She'd been feeling strange the past few days: dizzy, nauseous, and suddenly craving things she wouldn't normally eat, like pickles dipped in ice cream.
"What's wrong with me?" she muttered to herself.
Grant walked into the kitchen with a curious expression. "Are you okay, love? You've been a little… off lately."
Isobel took a deep breath and placed her hands on the counter. "Grant, I need to take a test. I have a suspicion…"
Grant frowned. "Test for what? Suspect for what?"
She gave him a meaningful look. "Pregnancy."
There was silence for a moment before Grant let out a nervous laugh. "Pregnancy? Seriously? Do you think you might be pregnant?"
"With everything that's happened recently," she replied, blushing. "It's a possibility."
Grant stood, holding her hands. "Then let's find out now. I want to be with you for it."
Some time later, in the bathroom, Isobel held the test in her hands while Grant waited anxiously outside. When she finally opened the door, her face was a mix of excitement and shock.
"Grant," she said, her voice shaking. "It's positive."
Grant froze for a second before a huge smile lit up his face. He picked her up, spinning her around the bathroom as he laughed.
"We're having a baby!" he shouted, his voice full of joy.
Isobel laughed, tears in her eyes. "I was so nervous. I didn't know how you would react."
Grant placed his hands on her face, his eyes shining with excitement. "How would I react? This is the best news I've ever heard. You're going to be an amazing mother, Isobel."
That night, sitting on the couch, hands clasped, Isobel and Grant discussed the future.
"With a baby on the way," Isobel began, "our lives are going to change completely."
Grant nodded. "I've been thinking about it. Maybe it's time for us to retire for good. Leave New York behind and start something new."
Isobel looked at him curiously. "Do you have something in mind?"
Grant smiled. "Hawaii. I told you on our honeymoon that that place was special. Imagine raising our child in such a beautiful place, away from all the chaos."
Isobel was silent for a moment, considering his words. Finally, she nodded. "I love that idea. Let's do it."
A few days later, at the FBI office in New York, Isobel and Grant called the team together for a special meeting. Jubal, OA, Tiffany, Scola, Nina, and Maggie were all present, all curious about the reason.
"So, what's the news?" Jubal asked, leaning back in his chair.
Isobel exchanged a glance with Grant before speaking. "Grant and I have some news to share. First, I'm pregnant."
The room erupted in congratulations and applause. Maggie, still recovering, beamed from ear to ear. "That's amazing, Isobel! I'm so happy for you guys."
OA joked. "So that's why you were eating those weird combinations for lunch."
Everyone laughed, and Isobel shook her head. "Yeah, looks like I'm in for a few months of weird cravings."
Grant held up his hand to silence the room. "There's one more thing. We've decided that with the baby coming, it's time for us to retire and start a new life in Hawaii."
Silence fell over the room, followed by gasps and gasps of surprise.
"You're leaving?" Nina asked, visibly shocked.
"It's a big change," Isobel admitted. "But it's the best decision for our family."
Jubal stood, crossing his arms. "Well, you're going to be missed. But I understand. You deserve it."
Maggie nodded. "Just don't think we're going to leave you alone. We'll show up in Hawaii as a surprise."
Grant laughed. "The door is always open for you. And we promise to keep in touch."
As everyone said their goodbyes, the emotion was palpable. OA hugged Isobel, saying, "You've been an incredible leader. It's going to be hard to find someone who can match you."
Tiffany joked to Grant, "I hope you didn't teach the next generation to be as stubborn as you."
Scola shook Grant's hand, saying, "Good luck, man. And take good care of Isobel and the baby."
Finally, Jubal gave them both a hug. "You two are an inspiration. The FBI loses great agents, but Hawaii gains an incredible family."
As Isobel and Grant left the office for the last time, they walked hand in hand, ready for a new chapter.
"Are you ready for this?" Grant asked.
Isobel looked up at him, her face beaming. "With you by my side, I'm ready for anything."
And so, with a bright future ahead of them, they embarked on their journey to paradise, ready to create a new life as a family.
