Golden Card City's city gates groaned behind him, but Yone didn't look back.
The morning sun had barely lifted above the jagged skyline of the city's gilded spires, painting the stone roads in slanted gold. A hush lingered over the massive wooden drawbridge, disturbed only by the distant flutter of flags and the rhythmic clack of his boots.
For now, Yone was alone, and Ismail wasn't with him, and his journey had just begun.
Ismail had stayed behind.
Level 10 at last, albeit just barely.
They had celebrated briefly. A few chuckles. A quick shared cup of tea in a shop. Then, a long silence between them as Yone decided to leave him be.
Ismail had decided to rest, maybe look into basic gear or city dailies. As for Yone? He had decided to go with his quest as he initially wanted whenever he set off with Ismail.
