He couldn't feel anything."Is he actually dead?"
With panic, he put his ear to Cain's chest, and he heard it—dubb-dubb, dubb-dubb. He heard Cain's heartbeat. Kirko sighed in relief."Oh thank God he's alive. So why didn't I feel anything at that time?"
Kirko kept thinking and eventually gave up on it, but the actual reason was that Kirko did it and was pressing on the wrong spot.
Kirko then turned his attention to a notice the system gave him during the time he was searching for Cain in the worm's stomach.
System – You killed a Sand Worm. You have gained a coin.
"A coin? What does a coin do?" He opened his system and found out he had a total of 31 coins."31 coins?? I guess I got it by killing all the goblins." He tilted his head a bit."But what does a coin do?"
A hand touched Kirko's back right at his wound."Ahhhhhhhhhh!" He screamed in pain. While leaping forward, he brought out both his daggers and took a fighting stance. In front of him, Cain was leaning forward with his hand stretched out.
"Oh, it's just you." Kirko sighed in relief and disbanded his weapons."You finally woke up. We need to move, so can you start right now?"
"W-Where am I? Didn't I get eaten by a worm?" He was looking at his surroundings.
"Well, it's a long story. I'll tell you everything while we continue running."
Cain got up and started stretching his arm."Let's go."
But something was wrong about him, and Kirko realized it, but just ignored it.
They continued their journey. During the time, Kirko told Cain about what he did, being transparent and not leaving anything out. Cain's face changed a lot during the story, and at the end, his face got a bit dark.
GRRRRRRR
The ground shook heavily, but this was not anything new for Cain and Kirko. They knew what was going to happen, so they both ran into an alleyway where both their left and right were covered by ruined buildings that had fallen over. But after they ran a bit, a silhouette of a worm was in front of them, and behind them, the ground was shaking, and they could feel it come close to them. They were trapped."Just keep running. It may not be a worm."
Cain instinctively trusted Kirko, and they continued running, but the further they got, the paler their faces became. As the silhouette became more visible and clearer, it was definitely another worm.
"Don't stop. Keep going. I got a plan, but take out your weapon just in case."
Kirko took out both his daggers while Cain took out his sword.
They got closer and closer to the worm in front of them, and when they reached close to it—
"Cain, get the attention of that worm. I'll do it for the one behind us."
Cain nodded his head and ran towards the worm, while Kirko stopped and waited for the worm to come out. Just as the ground shaking came right below Kirko, he waited for about two seconds.
'Now'
Kirko ran as fast as he could. The teeth of the worm were coming from the ground right in front of him. He had no other thought in his mind—just escape. He was going to reach the teeth, but he felt it. The ground below him crumbled and tore into pieces, and below him only darkness remained.
He took one big leap from the ground below him, and just as his leg left it, the ground crumbled and became dust.
He curled himself to form a ball and barely went past the teeth and reached safety. He looked in front of him to see Cain running away, and behind him, a huge worm chasing him. Kirko smiled.
"Nice work, Cain. Now come closer."
"OOok," Cain shouted in fear.
Kirko got up and ran towards him. The worm which tried to eat him came out from the ground and chased Kirko.
'Hopefully this works out.' Kirko ran faster and reached Cain. Then he held him and waited for both the worms to get closer. Then he threw his dagger right into the air.
When he went into the worm's mouth, he hoped one thing about his ability—Teleport—which was to know if he touches a person, do they teleport with him. And it worked. Because of that risk, he unlocked a new understanding of his ability, and because of it, he made this plan.
"Teleport."
He teleported both of them right into the air, and below them, both the worms couldn't come to a stop and just crashed into each other. The sheer force of the collision knocked both the beasts to the ground.
"Now Cain, get ready to stab them with your weapon."
"Wh-What?? Are you crazy? You already made us spawn this far into the sky, and now you want me to kill them?"
Kirko ignored him."Get ready."
Cain reluctantly brought out his sword to stab the beast.
Their speed increased as they fell, and right when they were close to landing on the worms, Kirko stabbed the beast in front of him, then sliced its flesh. He then put his hand into the beast and splashed a whole lot of blood onto himself, activating his title's ability.
He brought out his second dagger, which could now pierce the beast, and sliced it all over, weakening the monster.
"I'll stop here. I will die from blood loss soon." He wiped some blood off his mouth.
He glanced over to Cain to see his sword pierced into the worm and him just standing there, scared.
"What are you doing? Pick up the sword!" But Cain didn't respond.
Kirko ran and held him and threw his dagger as far as he could.'Please go at least 40 meters.'
Teleport
They both luckily landed in a tower quite high up in the sky.
"Looks like luck is on my side." He sat down."I can't believe I threw it into a window." He felt good about himself.'I'm so cool.'
"I'm sorry." Cain was standing still, clenching his hand while blood was dripping from his palm.
Kirko looked at him, confused."What ar—"
"I'm sorry!" Cain cut him off."I couldn't do it. I couldn't kill it."
Kirko stood up and slapped Cain in the head."It's ok. Now let's continue our journey."
They both continued their journey, running away and escaping from more worms. During their journey, they barely talked, and Cain was a bit different. Kirko ignored it again, thinking it would go away.
Eventually, they were only 200 meters away from the 2k mark. They took a break in a small building.
Someone from far away saw Kirko and Cain enter the house."I finally found you." He gave out a big smile."Hehehehe."
