Chapter 106 - The wine is poisoned.

**Luo Bin was truly desperate.** Peng Gang had just been publicly reprimanded by him, even having two fingers broken in front of everyone.

Now, he was dead. If this got out, it would bring serious trouble to the company.

"Peng Gang jumped to his death! Before he jumped, he... he said..."

The secretary trembled, too afraid to continue.

"What exactly did he say?" Luo Bin roared.

"He said you drove him to his death. That even as a ghost, he wouldn't let you off," the secretary stammered.

Luo Bin collapsed onto the sofa, his face blank with shock.

Yang Chen's eyes flashed with icy fury. Ordinary schemes were one thing, but now lives were at stake—this had crossed his bottom line.

"Call the police first!" Yang Chen ordered immediately.

The secretary, unaware of Yang Chen's identity, hesitated and looked at Luo Bin for confirmation.

"Do as the Chairman says! What are you waiting for?" Luo Bin snapped.

The secretary jolted in surprise at the word "Chairman." Though she'd often seen Yang Chen with Luo Bin, she'd never realized this young man was actually the Chairman of Yanchen Group.

Once the secretary left, Yang Chen spoke calmly, "The police will take you in for questioning. To avoid unnecessary complications, turn yourself in now."

"What happened in the meeting room can't be hidden. With Peng Gang dead, even if you don't confess, suspicion will fall on you."

Luo Bin understood. "I'll follow your orders," he said before leaving swiftly.

Yang Chen made a call. "Find out who Peng Gang contacted before his death. And investigate his family—thoroughly."

He knew Peng Gang's death wasn't as simple as it seemed.

If Peng Gang hadn't feared death, why had he confessed so quickly after just two broken fingers?

As the head of Yanchen Group's sales department, he could've easily found another high-paying job elsewhere.

A man who feared pain so much wouldn't jump to his death without reason.

This could only mean one thing: he'd been threatened. And for someone in his position, the only leverage was family.

---

Soon, Qin Yi was summoned to the Chairman's office.

Seeing Yang Chen seated in the Chairman's chair, her eyes widened in shock. "Brother-in-law? Why are you here?"

Her face was still pale from the news of Peng Gang's suicide.

Yang Chen cut straight to the point. "I've sent Luo Bin to turn himself in. For now, you'll act as interim CEO, overseeing all company affairs."

Qin Yi had always known Yang Chen was extraordinary, but she'd never connected him to Yanchen Group's Chairman.

Now, his words confirmed her growing suspicion.

"Brother-in-law, you..."

She hesitated, unsure if she should voice her realization, given Yang Chen had never disclosed his identity to her.

Yang Chen's tone was firm. "I am Yanchen Group's Chairman. There's no time for explanations now. Listen carefully."

"Yes!"

With her suspicions confirmed, Qin Yi steadied herself, pushing aside her shock to focus on Yang Chen's instructions.

"First, Peng Gang's death isn't what it seems. Don't blame yourself. Your priority is to stabilize the company in Luo Bin's absence."

"Second, his death will be exploited. You'll face immense pressure. Stay calm, no matter what happens."

"Third, there are moles within the company. Right now, I trust only you to step into this role."

"Any questions?"

Yang Chen's commanding presence was overwhelming, and Qin Yi felt a flicker of awe.

Though she had many doubts, she shook her head. "I won't let you down."

"Good. If you see potential in your friend Sun Tian, consider promoting her."

Yang Chen checked the time and stood. "I need to pick up Xiao Xiao."

With that, he left, leaving Qin Yi stunned. "The company's in crisis, and you're just... leaving?"

---

News of Qin Yi's interim appointment spread quickly, stirring unrest within the company. Many voiced dissatisfaction, piling pressure onto her shoulders.

Yang Chen was well aware of the chaos. With his influence, resolving the mess would've been effortless.

But he'd handed the crisis to Qin Yi for a reason—to temper her. The Jiangzhou branch was insignificant to him. The real battlefield was in Yanjing.

---

**Yanjing, a sprawling estate.**

Inside a lavish villa, a young man stood before floor-to-ceiling windows, gazing outside.

Behind him, a middle-aged man spoke cautiously, "Young Master Bin, I followed your orders. Peng Gang's dead, and that fool must be scrambling now."

The young man—Bin Shao—smirked. "Well done."

He strolled to a rosewood table, pouring two glasses of red wine. Handing one to the man, he said, "A toast to your success. It's time for you to lay low abroad."

"Thank you, Bin Shao! Serving you is an honor!"

The man accepted the glass eagerly, flattered by the attention from someone of Bin Shao's status.

*Clink.*

Their glasses touched.

The man drained his wine in one go.

"Bin Shao, I'll take my leave. I'll return to serve you again."

He turned to go—but after a few steps, dizziness struck.

His breathing grew ragged, his face turning purple. A suffocating terror seized him.

"The... the wine was poisoned!"

Those were his last words before he collapsed.

Bin Shao sneered. "Only the dead keep secrets."

Two black-clad men entered, swiftly removing the body.

---

Meanwhile, Yang Chen waited in line to pick up Xiao Xiao when his phone rang.

"Brother Chen, we've traced Peng Gang's last call—it was to Chen Hai."

A familiar voice spoke, then added grimly, "But we just got word from Yanjing. Chen Hai entered the Yu family's estate... and vanished."
