"It's Ramsey,"
Camilla answered the call, switching on the speakerphone.
"Madam,"
Ramsey's voice came through from the other end of the line.
"We've already picked them up.
We should arrive at the old estate by 2 p.m."
The "them" referred to, of course, Carrie Ann's family.
"Good," Camilla replied, her heart settling slightly at the news.
"Be careful on the road."
Sinclair continued preparing food for the person nestled in his arms, his handsome face betraying no emotion.
Sinclair understood why Camilla placed such importance on their arrival—it was for the life-bound poison worm inside him.
But he was used to expecting the worst in every situation.
That way, he was never disappointed.
After hanging up, Camilla made another call, instructing Luke to arrange the timing for grandma Porter's arrival.
Her heart had been cradled in her hands all this time.
Now, she just hoped to finally let it rest.
