"Far from fair," he said instead. "But now that you're around, I know things are gonna change for the better."
"By that, I guess you're referring to a certain frozen hearted punk," Dominic said, gesturing with his chin at Richard who had finally looked up from his worK. "He has been bullying you, right?"
"If not that I haven't seen you for how long…ten months? I would have asked security to throw you out," Richard said coldly, but his words were betrayed by the softness around his eyes as he spoke.
"Thanks for giving your best buddy a warm welcome after not seeing him for so long," Dominic said, pulling out a chair to settle in. "And I'm so happy to see you too."
Richard sneered, trying so hard to keep a straight face even though he was inwardly thrilled to have someone he could finally talk to without exercising the usual caution he did with others. "You finally remembered to come home. What happened?"
