He absentmindedly ran his fingers through her dark hair, his other hand holding his phone as he scrolled through messages and reports. The soft light from the screen illuminated his face, highlighting the furrow in his brow as he processed the information.
Nova shifted slightly, her eyes fluttering open. "Anything important?" she murmured, her voice thick with sleep.
Asher glanced down, offering a small smile. "Just updates from Velcrest. Everything seems stable for now."
