When everything finally came to an end and I prepared to head home, Clarice met me before I could leave.
"May I drop you home?" She proposed.
"I don't think that's necessary, you've done enough," I said but she waved her hand like it was nothing.
"I insist," she pressed.
Without saying another word of refusal, I looked at Hui who was standing beside me.
"I'll go ahead then," I said and he smiled.
"I will be there shortly," he said and leaned in to plant a soft kiss on my left temple before letting me go.
I was ushered to Clarice's car where the door was being held out for me and I entered first before she followed. When the door was shut and we were left in our own space, she spoke.
"You seem to be getting along with Hui just fine."
"How can I not," I happily said and she nodded as if taking note of it.
When the car moved, I relaxed and quietly watched how street lights went by as we added speed.
"What do you think about my son?"
