Lorenzo scratched his head, then tilted a brow.
"It's, eh—nothing serious at all. Just some interesting news," he said with a bit of amusement in his voice.
Ashley gave him a suspicious stare. He gently leaned her forward and fastened her seatbelt. Heat spread through her skin. Even when they weren't in the best place, he still treated her with such care.
"Can I see?" she asked, once Lorenzo started the car and drove out of the mansion.
"Are your kids okay?"
Ashley's brows furrowed in confusion.
"My kids?"
"Yeah, the ones you went to see." He cast her a teasing glance.
Ashley rolled her eyes. "My kids are perfectly fine. Greg too... he's recovering really quick."
"Good to know," he replied, waving a hand across his face. "Kinda miss his grumpy self."
Ashley laughed. After a quiet pause, she turned to face him.
"So, now that you're done avoiding my question, can I see your phone?"
"Why would you want to see my phone?"
