Chapter 315 - Chapter 315: The Headless Knight’s Expedition

Originally following beside Roa, Darkness paused, showing a struggling expression on her face.

After hesitating for a moment, Darkness said to Roa, "Um, can you carry me?"

Roa didn't waste any words. He switched Aqua from his right hand to his left and directly grabbed Darkness's armor with his now-free right hand. With a little effort, he easily lifted the muscular girl clad in armor.

Darkness had only said it casually, but being carried like this by Roa made her face flush with a noticeable red hue.

Roa looked down on Darkness's inexplicable sense of shame. She clearly seemed like the type to be coy and pretentious.

Wanting it but still putting on a shy act.

If it weren't for his left hand holding Aqua, he would have given Darkness a slap on the backside.

Roa said coldly, "What's wrong? Didn't the holy knight say she wanted me to carry her? Am I not doing that right now?"

"Ah, um, it's just that everyone is watching, and it's a bit embarrassing."

Roa let out a cold laugh. The young man, straightforward in nature, directly pierced through Darkness's thoughts, saying, "Isn't this what you wanted?"

Darkness fell silent at Roa's words. The holy knight opened her mouth, seemingly wanting to argue for herself, but found she couldn't say a word.

Because she indeed thought that way.

By the time the group reached the city wall, everyone had gathered there. The adventurers, armed with swords and blades, looked serious as they gazed ahead.

Roa squeezed through the crowd to take a look, then casually let go of the two.

The two fell to the ground without hesitation, and Aqua seemed to land on her backside, letting out a small cry of pain.

Aqua got up from the ground as if nothing had happened, looked around, and casually said, "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? I want to see which idiot disturbed the goddess's meal; I will purify them."

Soon, Aqua's gaze locked onto the figure standing on a small hill.

It was a knight, headless; to be precise, the head was in his right hand.

The headless knight was entirely encased in armor, exuding an eerie and dead atmosphere. The skull within the helmet had two flickering flames of soul fire in its eye sockets.

Beneath the headless knight was a tall skeletal warhorse, burning with ghostly flames. Not only the headless knight but even his mount gave off a chilling and terrifying aura.

The headless knight looked at the crowd, gripping a massive black sword in his left hand. The three-meter-long greatsword rested heavily on his shoulder, and the flames of soul fire in his eye sockets flickered as he gazed at the crowd.

"Ha ha ha, I am one of the seven generals of the Demon King's army. My name is Beldia. I have come here not for anything else but to simply warn you, lowly adventurers."

The headless knight's arrogance was quite pronounced. After all, as one of the seven officers of the Demon King, although his strength might not be particularly formidable, there was no one in the small town who could match him.

"What should we do, Pamela? Why did an officer of the Demon King's army come here?"

Darkness had somehow run to Roa's side, shaking his shoulder.

Darkness looked somewhat nervous.

But thinking about it, it was indeed unexpected for an officer of the Demon King's army to pop up in a novice village.

After all, such a guy was the kind of leader who led an army to attack the Royal capital.

Roa brushed off her hand, maintaining a serious expression. "Be quiet; I'm thinking."

To be honest, even if the headless knight had come, Roa didn't think he would appear so soon. After all, he hadn't let Megumin cast explosion magic at the fortress every day like in the original story; he was just simply leading the four-member team to hunt monsters.

Yet even so, the headless knight still showed up, and even earlier than in the original story.

It indeed made Roa feel a bit strange.

The headless knight took in everyone's expressions, and the flames of soul fire in his eye sockets flickered. He slammed the great sword heavily into the ground, and the massive sword easily pierced the earth, producing a dull sound.

Most of the people's expressions were a mix of panic and fear. Feeling the awe in the gazes directed at him, the headless knight felt quite pleased.

Yes, this is how it should be.

It's this feeling, just this feeling, everything has returned.

What king's capital, what yellow-haired brat, here, he is the god of this place, and he can easily crush this group of ants.

However, just as he was immersed in this pleasurable feeling, he suddenly noticed that a group of adventurers was looking at this place with a very strange gaze.

"Hmm?"

The Headless Knight looked over there, at the five people in the center of the city gate.

Roa had a blank expression, looking over here with a calm demeanor.

Aqua was picking her nose, wearing a rather annoying expression. Noticing the Headless Knight's gaze, Aqua even made an international friendly gesture. If it weren't for Kazuma pulling her back, she might have run over to get in his face.

Darkness's face was flushed, her cheeks reddening, with a dazed expression, her eyes shining as she stared intently at the Headless Knight.

That kind of gaze was like looking at some rare treasure, making this demon king's officer feel quite uncomfortable.

The Headless Knight instinctively tightened his grip on the giant sword in his hand. He felt that this group of people was very strange, giving him a creepy feeling.

But how could this be? They were just adventurers from a remote area, mere ants, how could they make him retreat?

Thinking of this, the Headless Knight urged his soul warhorse forward a few steps, the necromantic aura spreading. The Headless Knight believed that his momentum could not be lost. He approached Darkness, who felt the most bizarre to him, resting his giant sword on the ground, producing a dull sound.

To be honest, the Headless Knight's actions were quite skillful; this sense of oppression was indeed palpable.

With that eerie and terrifying armor, ordinary adventurers probably wouldn't even have the heart to resist.

The Headless Knight pointed a finger at Darkness, his tone indifferent: "You, come out."

"Me?" Darkness was slightly taken aback, looking around and realizing that the other adventurers, except for her teammates, had retreated far away.

Following the direction of the finger, there was only herself in that position.

"Yes, it's you." The Headless Knight's cold voice echoed.

Darkness's body instinctively stiffened, then she trembled slightly, seemingly afraid as she walked forward, but in reality, it was probably due to her overwhelming joy.
