Chapter 301 - Chapter 301: Trouble

The rapidly disappearing streets flashed by as the wind recklessly whipped the girl's brilliant golden hair.

The distant, towering palace grew smaller and smaller. Leaving the palace, Iris felt a sense of relief wash over her.

Iris felt an unprecedented thrill at this moment. As for whether she would be scolded by her father and mother upon her return, she no longer cared.

Iris even entertained a bolder idea in her heart.

She might as well continue sneaking out like this, as long as she returned by night.

That's what Iris thought.

She always felt that her role in the palace was that of a vase, and even if she disappeared, those people wouldn't notice.

Her thoughts wandered, and before she knew it, the two had stopped on a rooftop.

Roa released the girl's waist, wondering if she was still nervous. Since earlier, the girl had been clinging to him like an octopus.

Roa patted Iris on the shoulder and said softly, "We're here, Iris."

"Huh? Ah!"

Iris didn't seem to have fully reacted, uttering "Ah?" twice before coming to her senses.

Roa crouched on the roof, peering down below.

Realizing what was happening, Iris followed Roa's example, standing on the rooftop and looking down.

Below was the Adventurers' Guild.

Adventurers came and went in a constant stream. Some wore full suits of armor, while others were bare-chested, revealing several gruesome scars.

There were many adventurers of all kinds, but those who could stand here were all quite strong.

Even in the afternoon, it was bustling with activity.

The reason they stopped here was that Roa sensed several fairly strong individuals inside.

Moreover, entering the Adventurers' Guild while cloaked might make them seem suspicious. To avoid unnecessary trouble, it was better to cancel the stealth before going in.

Iris's eyes lit up when she saw the adventurers. They perfectly matched her image of adventurers from storybooks, looking incredibly dashing.

Iris poked Roa with her finger and whispered, "Let's go down, okay?"

Roa looked at Iris, whose face was flushed. He didn't know why, but he noticed that the girl blushed easily.

Of course, the blush on her cheeks now was more likely due to excitement.

Roa nodded and said, "Let's go down."

Iris adjusted her hat, which would have been blown away by the wind if she hadn't reacted quickly.

Roa canceled the stealth effect on Iris and himself, revealing their true forms. Roa then put his arm around Iris's waist again, glanced around, and jumped directly into a small alley.

The two naturally walked out of the alley. Iris adjusted the brim of her hat, straightened it, and said softly to Roa, "Let's go."

The two entered the Adventurers' Guild, and then came the familiar routine.

Iris looked around curiously, quickly attracting attention.

Roa didn't stop Iris's curiosity. The girl went straight to the bounty board, quickly scanning it.

The monsters listed varied in strength, with some being powerful and others weak.

Iris grabbed Roa's arm, pointed to a quest in front of her, and shook Roa's arm, saying sweetly, "Let's go defeat this one, okay?"

Roa followed Iris's gaze and saw that it was a quest to defeat goblins.

Roa looked at the quest and then at Iris's expectant expression, and nodded.

Goblins weren't considered strong creatures. To be honest, going to defeat goblins was like using a cannon to kill a mosquito.

Iris was a descendant of the hero and had even brought the Holy Sword with her this time.

And with Roa by her side, this lineup was more than enough to defeat a few demon king executives, let alone defeat the demon king.

Yet, Iris was thinking of defeating goblins?

Roa sighed helplessly. Roa was an extremely handsome young man, and although Iris tried to hide her noble origins, her clothes and girlish demeanor completely gave her away.

The adventurers present simply exchanged glances, smiling knowingly.

Just looking at the task the two had accepted, they couldn't help but laugh.

Iris had sharp ears, and the laughter was quite abrupt in the crowd. The girl looked towards the source of the laughter and saw a sixteen or seventeen-year-old boy trying to suppress his amusement.

Seeing Iris looking at him, the boy quickly waved his hand, but the corners of his mouth still held a strong smile.

For some reason, Iris felt a little angry. This was the first time someone had dared to mock her like this.

The girl didn't hesitate, slamming the quest on the table and looking at the boy with a displeased expression. She said coldly, "What are you laughing at? Is there something funny?"

Hearing the girl's words, the boy's smile gradually disappeared. He glanced at the ornate longsword hanging at Iris's waist and said lightly, "Which noble's child is this, coming here to play house."

Instantly, Iris's face turned red, but this time it was from anger.

The surrounding people cast interested glances, clearly treating what was happening as entertainment.

The more Iris thought about it, the angrier she became. This was the first time someone had dared to mock her like this.

The girl didn't hesitate and said directly to the boy in front of her, "What quest I take is my business. You're mocking me like this, you need to apologize."

The boy chuckled a few times, his eyes subtly scanning Roa, who was standing silently beside her. The boy said somewhat flippantly, "Is that so? If you can defeat me, I'll apologize. Oh, of course, your servant beside you isn't allowed to interfere."

Hearing the boy's words, Roa didn't change his expression, but Iris instantly exploded.

"He's not my servant, he's my brother," Iris said to the boy, puffing out her cheeks.

Looking at Iris's appearance in front of him, the boy felt a different kind of feeling in his heart, feeling that the other party was very interesting.

However, Roa was now looking at this somewhat ignorant boy with a pitying gaze.

Although Iris had never fought before, if you really want to calculate it, her strength may have far exceeded most of the adventurers in this world. Even Roa had never seen a stronger aura than Iris in the royal capital.

The boy still had that cynical expression, but the companion next to him pulled him and whispered to the boy, "Is it not good to do this? The other party looks like they have a big background."

The boy glanced at the companions around him and said casually, "I'm just saying a few words, the other party can't really come to trouble me for this little thing."
