Augustine stepped back and turned to Jeanne. "Now you know the whole truth. Do you still blame Anne?"
Jeanne hung her head down, shame and fury twisting her face.
"You accused my wife without knowing the truth," he said with righteous fury. "You slapped her in front of everyone. Don't you think you owe her an apology?"
"What?" Jeanne stiffened, her eyes narrowing with a mix of fury and disbelief. "You want me to apologize to her?"
"Why not?" he countered. "You humiliated her. You falsely accused her in public. You must apologize."
Jeanne scoffed, her voice rising. "You… You're blaming me now? She had that video. She could've shown it earlier. But no, she waited until tonight—just to disgrace us in front of all these people. Don't pretend this wasn't intentional."
