Konoha Village.
"Isn't it just to capture Sasuke?" Naruto looked ahead, speechless. "Does it really take such a huge operation?"
In front of Naruto, Team Hinata, Team Kakashi, and Yamato were assembled at the village gate.
"This is already scaled down," Kakashi explained. "Having more people would make us too easy to spot. So we reduced it to two teams."
"Capturing someone alive takes far more skill than simply killing them," Jiraiya added. "Considering coordination, Team Hinata was chosen since they've been working closely with Naruto recently."
"Still... why do we have to leave on a rainy day?!" Naruto complained, glancing at the gloomy sky.
"Naruto, Naruto... it's okay," Hinata whispered softly.
"Enough with the nonsense!" Tsunade shouted. "The mission to search for and capture Uchiha Sasuke is officially underway! Move out!"
Everyone rushed forward at full speed.
"Akatsuki's goal is to collect the Tailed Beasts," Kakashi explained on the move. "Reports say the Three-Tails have already been captured. Kakuzu previously came after Naruto in the '847' incident. It's not surprising if they've infiltrated the Land of Fire."
"Sasuke's current goal is Uchiha Itachi, who's also part of Akatsuki. Itachi approached Naruto three years ago, so it's highly likely he'll make another attempt soon," Yamato continued. "We'll search the area within a five-kilometer radius, centered around Leaf Village."
"Now! Disperse!"
With that, Kakashi vanished in a flicker, splitting the teams in different directions.
Elsewhere, with Sasuke.
"Then it's time," Suigetsu said, glancing back.
"Uchiha Itachi..." Jugo muttered. "Let's hope we find him without trouble."
With a blur, the two of them disappeared into the trees.
"Yay!" Karin squealed, removing her glasses and latching onto Sasuke. "Sasuke~ it's just the two of us now~!"
"You're going too," Sasuke ordered coldly.
"Aww~"
After they all left, Sasuke slowly stepped out from the shadows.
"Come out."
"Huh?" Tobi—disguised as a bumbling fool—emerged from behind a tree. "You must be Uchiha Sasuke, right? You really do look like Itachi!"
Sasuke glared at him sharply.
"Ahhh!" Tobi ducked behind the tree. "So scary!"
Suddenly—
Two large RPG-style clay bombs descended from the sky!
"Art is an EXPLOSION! Hah!!"
BOOM!
A massive cloud of smoke and debris engulfed the area where Sasuke stood.
Deidara landed from above. "Got him! Killed Uchiha Sasuke!"
Tobi peeked from behind the tree. "As expected of Senpai!"
When the smoke cleared, a giant white snake had shielded Sasuke. The summoning had protected him completely.
"Pfft~ Senpai is awesome~" Tobi chuckled, hand over his mouth.
"Shut up!" Deidara shouted.
With a puff, the White Snake vanished.
Sasuke, now with his Sharingan active, glared coldly at the two.
"You killed Orochimaru, my target!" Deidara snapped. "I don't need Itachi to finish you—I'll do it myself."
"Let's go, Senpai! I'll apologize to Itachi later!" Tobi encouraged him.
"Where is Uchiha Itachi?" Sasuke said, unmoved. "Tell me, and I'll spare you both."
"Bastard!" Deidara hissed, enraged. "That Sharingan of yours—just a waste of Uchiha blood!"
Swish!
"So fast!" Deidara jumped to a high branch in shock.
Tobi, meanwhile, had been stabbed by Sasuke's Kusanagi sword.
"One down," Sasuke said, staring at Deidara. "Now, you—talk."
But to Sasuke's surprise, Tobi—who should have been skewered—rose to his feet.
"Nani?!" Sasuke's eyes narrowed.
"What are you doing?! Stop playing around just because the opponent is a kid!" Deidara barked.
"No way! His Body Flicker Technique is way too fast—we can't keep up!" Tobi complained, flailing.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes at Tobi.
"Tch!" Deidara reached into his pouch. "Let's start with C1-grade clay."
"Move aside, Senpai!" Tobi cried out, dodging the incoming wave.
Deidara hurled clay spiders at Sasuke.
"Lightning Style: Chidori Senbon!"
Sasuke's barrage of electrified needles destroyed the clay spiders midair.
"What?!" Deidara gasped.
"Behind you, Senpai!" Tobi shouted.
Deidara reflexively threw a clay bomb backward.
BOOM!
The explosion burst between them and Sasuke.
"Ah! Senpai~" Tobi cried dramatically, patting the ground. "Strict but kind, and he blew himself up in the end..."
"Shut up, you bastard!" Deidara shouted, reappearing.
"Ah! You're alive~" Tobi cheered.
"Say another word and I'll kill you!"
Sasuke observed them silently: "His ability is to create explosives with his palms?"
Deidara frowned: "I barely escaped by using the shockwave from the explosion. Thankfully it was just C1-grade. His speed is dangerous."
"Then take this!" Deidara spat out more clay, which molded into two massive clay giants charging Sasuke.
"Hmph." Sasuke scoffed. "Just toys."
He sliced one in half, but the halves reconnected through clay threads and formed smaller duplicates, swarming him.
"Let's see how he handles this!" Deidara grinned.
BOOM!
One doll exploded as Sasuke struck it.
"You okay, Senpai?!" Tobi yelled.
Swish! Sasuke jumped out of the explosion zone, landing on a nearby branch.
Tobi sighed in relief: "There we go."
Deidara commanded the clay dolls to swarm.
"Explode!"
A massive explosion engulfed the area.
"Ahhh!" Tobi screamed.
When the smoke cleared, only a charred log fell.
"Substitution Jutsu... figured," Tobi muttered.
"Hey! You bastard!" Deidara shouted at Tobi. "Whose side are you on?!"
Sasuke, now appearing behind them, said coldly: "Enough."
He activated Lightning Release in both palms: "Kirin's Wrath!"
Swish! Sasuke instantly appeared behind Deidara.
"Nani?!" Deidara gasped.
CRACKLE!!
Sasuke's devastating Lightning Style technique electrocuted Deidara, leaving him smoking and paralyzed.
"Ahhh!!" Tobi screamed and ran off. "So scary!!"
Deidara and Sasuke both stared silently.
"Last chance," Sasuke said darkly. "Where is Uchiha Itachi?"
The surge of Lightning Chakra disrupted Deidara's Earth Release from forming externally.
Deidara stared into Sasuke's Sharingan, recalling when Itachi forced him into Akatsuki...
"Bastard!" Deidara howled. "My art is perfect! I won't lose to anyone! I can't lose!"
He struggled to grab more clay, stuffing it into his chest-mouth.
"You brothers... your eyes! Always looking down on my art! I won't forgive that gaze that refuses to admire my creations!"
Deidara's body began to glow as Chakra pathways were exposed—transforming into combustible channels focusing inward.
"Feel fear! Witness me! Despair!! A ten-kilometer-radius explosion!"
"MY ART IS—"
BOOOOOOM!!!
