"Oh, okay..." Alaric shrugged and walked towards Algernon and stopped just two meters away.
"Ready when you are..."
"I'll count the timer," Penn smiled and moved forward, interested to see how Alaric will shock everyone around them.
"In three..."
Algernon gripped the handle of his sword tightly and grit his teeth. Charles Seymour, the 6th duke of of Somerset watched the two fighters grimmly.
"Two..."
Alaric smiled as just held his wooden sword, not taking any stance at all. Reuben yawned as he also saw no one worth the effort.
"ONE!"
---
The moment the countdown ended, Algernon lunged forward as fast as he could, his épée aimed straight at Alaric's chest. Alaric, however, remained calm and composed, his eyes fixed on Algernon's movements.
With a swift flick of his wrist, Alaric deflected Algernon's attack effortlessly, causing the épée to veer off course. Algernon stumbled slightly, caught off guard by Alaric's unexpected skill.
Undeterred, Algernon quickly regained his composure and launched a series of rapid thrusts and parries, each one more precise and calculated than the last. But Alaric seemed to anticipate every move, effortlessly dodging and blocking Algernon's attacks with his wooden sword.
As the fight continued, it became clear that Alaric was toying with Algernon, his movements fluid and graceful, while Algernon struggled to keep up. Alaric's taunts only fueled Algernon's frustration, causing him to make reckless mistakes.
With a sudden burst of speed, Alaric disarmed Algernon, sending his épée flying across the room. Algernon stood there, stunned and defeated, as Alaric casually twirled his wooden sword in his hand.
"I told you, I don't do fencing," Alaric said with a smirk. "But I do know how to win."
Algernon could only stare in disbelief as Alaric turned to walk away, his confidence shattered.
Charles Seymour watched the scene unfold with a mix of shock and admiration, realizing that Alaric was a force to be reckoned with.
As Alaric, Reuben, and William Penn made their way out of the backyard, the atmosphere was tense with a mix of shock and admiration.
Algernon stood there, his pride wounded but his respect for Alaric growing. The fight may have been over, but the impact of Alaric's skill and confidence would linger long after they had left.
Charles Seymour, the 6th Duke of Somerset, approached Algernon with a stern expression. "You fought well, Algernon. But it seems we underestimated our opponent. That young man... Alaric... is not to be taken lightly."
Algernon nodded, still processing the defeat. "I never expected him to be so skilled. He made it look effortless."
Meanwhile, Alaric, Reuben, and William Penn walked through the corridors of the duke's house, discussing the events that had just transpired.
"That was quite the display, Alaric," William Penn remarked with a smile. "I know you for more than a decade now... but you certainly know how to make an impression."
Alaric chuckled. "I just did what I do best. Algernon was no match for me."
"No doubt," Reuben nodded in agreement. "You were in control the entire time. It was impressive to watch you toying with a child."
Alaric grinned as he looked at Reuben. "Oh my... jealous, aren't we? I'm sorry you didn't get to fight..."
"Tch," Reuben's eyes twitched as they continued walking.
As they reached the entrance of the estate, William Penn turned to Alaric. "Anyways, we have an important dinner with the Queen tonight... you didn't sweat, did you?"
"Sweat?" Alaric's brows rose, then he chuckled. "I didn't even get to warm up... what'chu talking 'bout boi."
"Huh?" Penn's face was confused for a second but he shook his head at the blonde's antics.
The quaker extended his hand as a nearby luxurious carriage went towards them.
"Yip!" The coachman manned the reigns, making the horses stop. He then looked at William Penn and smiled. "Master Penn... I am ready."
"Did you wait long?"
"No, master... I've only arrived just now."
Penn nodded his head and motioned for Alaric and Reuben to follow him as they got on board in the carriage.
As they made themselves comfortable in the carriage, William Penn looked at Alaric, then at Reuben. He chuckled, grabbing the attention of both young adults.
"What?" Alaric asked.
"It's just... interesting, and funny at the same time," Penn stated as he smiled. "I've known you guys since you were little children, and this is the first time we boarded a carriage together."

"...Okay, I guess it's just me," Penn mused. 'Ungrateful brats...'
---
The carriage passed by lots of people, shops, and all things alike while Alaric, Reuben, and Penn had conversations here and there.
Twenty minutes have passed as the carriage finally slowed down.
Alaric looked outside the window to see lots of guards with muskets, flintlock pistols, and cutlasses surrounding the St. James's Palace within the heart of London. They were wearing distinctive red coats, along with white waistcoats and breeches.
As the carriage stopped by the gates, an officer walked towards the carriage and checked the windows to see William Penn and two handsome gentlemen. (Ehem)
Recognizing the influencial quaker, the officer nodded his head. "The queen has been expecting of your arrival, Sire William Penn."
"Please, continue up front."
William Penn nodded his head as the officer allowed the passage of the carriage.
'So I'm going to meet Queen Anne Stuart...' Alaric thought as he couldn't but chuckle, making Reuben and William Penn look at him weirdly. "HEH~"
'My history class professor would be sooooo jealous...'
Reuben and William Penn looked at each other but couldn't really answer each other's questions as to Alaric's antics.
The carriage finally stopped in front of the palace as William Penn smiled at both Alaric and Reuben. "Come on... let's go and meet the Queen of England."
