Somewhere in Crocus.
"Old man, what is [Photon · Reconstruction]?"
Sitting by a certain garden, Laxus crossed his arms and asked Makarov, who was sitting beside him with his eyes closed in thought.
"You heard about it from Ivan, didn't you?" Makarov countered.
"He seems to want that thing."
Makarov let out a small sigh, his face filled with helplessness.
"That brat again..."
"He even said something about Fairy Tail's darkness," Laxus added, bringing up something that had been bothering him ever since the tournament ended.
Makarov remained silent.
"It is not darkness."
A clear, gentle voice suddenly rang out, making Laxus look up.
The first guild master of Fairy Tail, Mavis, was approaching them with slow, deliberate steps.
"First Master!"
"[Photon · Reconstruction]—this is the 'light' of our guild," Mavis spoke in a rare, serious tone.
"First, you mustn't," Makarov interjected.
"I understand. This is something only the guild master is meant to know," Mavis interrupted him, then turned to Laxus with a soft voice.
"Laxus, can I ask for your understanding on this matter?"
Laxus raised an eyebrow before responding indifferently, "As long as it's not some weird, shady thing, I won't press further."
"I appreciate your understanding." Mavis gave a small nod.
"Still, where did Ivan even get his hands on this information?" Makarov muttered to himself with a headache.
[Photon · Reconstruction] was one of Fairy Tail's most well-kept secrets, something passed down orally from one guild master to the next.
The fact that Ivan knew about it was extremely puzzling.
"He must have learned it from the second master," Mavis said softly.
"Hmm... that's very likely." Makarov nodded thoughtfully.
If anyone were to have leaked this Fairy Tail secret, the most suspicious person would undoubtedly be Hades, who had become the master of Grimoire Heart.
Mavis' face was filled with sorrow and guilt.
"I never expected the second master to fall into darkness... It's all because my judgment of people was too shallow, which led to this information leak."
"No, this isn't your fault."
"It is my fault," Mavis bit her lip, tears welling up in her big eyes.
"It's me... sniff... I-I'm not crying... I'm definitely... not crying!"
Seeing this, both Laxus and Makarov broke into a cold sweat.
Makarov immediately nudged Laxus and urged, "Laxus! Y-You comfort her! Go on, hurry!"
Laxus wiped the sweat from his forehead, looking completely out of his depth.
"That's way too difficult... I'm not Noel!"
(Noel: Hey!! Why am I getting dragged into this while doing nothing?!)
..............
In a hotel in Crocus.
"Cheers!!"
With a crisp clink of glasses, Fairy Tail's celebration for the third day of the Grand Magic Games officially began.
The members of Fairy Tail gathered in the hotel hall, rejoicing in their victories of the day.
"Today was absolutely awesome!" Natsu laughed loudly as he jumped excitedly on the table.
"We're not in the guild right now, so don't go around breaking things," Erza reminded him in a calm but firm tone.
"Gray-sama, you were amazing today as well!" Juvia said to Gray enthusiastically.
However, she was only met with a puzzled expression from Gray, who replied, "I... didn't really do anything, though."
"By the way, is Noel-nii's injury okay now?" Ed asked, glancing at Noel, who was sitting nearby.
Noel had single-handedly suppressed the forces of the Pandemonium, which was impressive, but he had also sustained several minor injuries.
Noel nodded and smiled. "I'm fine now. My recovery ability is pretty strong. But more importantly, aren't you supposed to be with Yukino?"
"What are you talking about, Noel-nii?!" Ed's face instantly turned red, causing a wave of good-natured laughter from those around them.
Even Yukino, sitting not far away, looked a little embarrassed.
"I finally had the chance to see Noel-nii, Erza, and Laxus win spectacular victories, but I couldn't win myself…" Wendy sighed in frustration, slumping slightly in her chair.
"What are you saying? You did great," Carla reassured her.
"Yeah, everyone was really surprised," Lily added.
"You were amazing, Wendy!" Levy also smiled in encouragement.
"By the way, Wendy, where did you go just now?" Lucy asked curiously, looking at Wendy.
After the Grand Magic Games ended today, Wendy had disappeared for a while and only just returned, making Lucy naturally curious.
"Um…" Wendy was about to answer but suddenly hesitated, stammering a little before saying, "Well… Sherria had something to talk to me about."
Hearing Wendy's response, Noel narrowed his eyes with a smile.
"It's great that you've made a friend, Wendy."
Just then, Natsu suddenly came charging over, riding on a cart made of stacked barrels, yelling "Barrel surfing!" as he crashed into the group, sending everyone tumbling.
"What the hell are you doing, you idiot?!" Gajeel, who had been knocked over, grabbed Natsu by the collar, shouting in anger.
"Wanna join in?" Natsu asked with a clueless expression.
Not wanting to be left out, Gray also hopped onto a barrel cart, joining in the chaos.
"Alright, let me try!"
The tavern instantly became a scene of complete mayhem.
When Gray finally crashed into something and stopped, his clothes had somehow mysteriously disappeared.
"My turn!" Even Erza joined in on the fun with Natsu and Gray.
The entire tavern erupted into pure chaos—people messing around, fighting, and launching sneak attacks amidst the madness.
Laughter filled the air, making the third night of the Grand Magic Games one to remember.
..............
At Sabertooth's inn, Crocus Garden.
Wearing his pajamas, the Exceed Lector rubbed his eyes as he walked onto the balcony.
Looking at Sting, who was already standing there, he asked, "Sting-kun, can't sleep?"
"Lector." Sting called his name, then lifted his head to gaze at the moon in the sky.
"I have a feeling that tomorrow, I'll be fighting against Natsu-san. I've been waiting for this moment for seven years."
"If it's you, Sting-kun, you'll definitely win!" Lector said confidently, clenching his fist.
............
Nighttime, in the empty city of Crocus.
A shadowy figure stood silently at the center of the deserted Grand Magic Games arena.
The moonlight cast from above seemed to be swallowed by the darkness surrounding the figure, making it impossible to discern his form.
"Four days left until the Day of Destiny…" the figure muttered coldly.
A layer of black shadows began spreading from beneath that person feet, and suddenly, the entire arena's ground turned as dark as ink, tainted with a foul and ominous hue.
