'Was that the time I got to know what the fear of losing my life is?' Vin thought, as he absentmindedly stared at the ceiling.
Recalling the past, when they were just running through the corridor, and Liam stayed back to fight that thing. It was illogical to even think of surviving something like that, much less fighting. Yet that boy Liam stayed back.
'Why did he do so?' Vin thought.
'And Ava, why did she go back without hesitation after leaving us to the classroom?'
'Had I done the same? But I didn't get any chance.'
'No, maybe I wouldn't have. I know now the fear of dying.'
'Looking back, she was right. I am a coward who just hides behind the facade of truth to escape lies.'
"But even then I didn't want to die," Vin murmured softly, his voice getting low, his vision blurry, the voices seeming less audible now.
