Chapter 24 - Chapter 79-80-81-82-83

Chapter 79 – The Dawn of the Senses

It was a quiet morning in Los Angeles. The sun shone softly through the half-open curtains of Alex and Charlize's spacious bedroom. The silence was broken only by the distant sound of the wind and the soft sighs that escaped Alex's lips as he slept soundly.

Charlize had woken up before him, and as she watched him in his serenity, she couldn't help but smile. The sight of Alex, so strong and imposing when awake, now seemed vulnerable and peaceful. She loved him more each day, and moments like this made her realize how lucky she was to have him by her side.

Decided to start the day in a special way, Charlize approached him slowly, sliding closer.

She started by kissing his shoulder, feeling the texture of his warm skin against her lips. Her fingers gently caressed the curve of his defined muscles as she moved down, kissing every inch of skin she could find.

Alex grumbled softly, still caught between sleep and consciousness.

"Charlize…" he murmured, without opening his eyes.

She smiled, satisfied that he was already reacting, and continued. Her lips traced a path down his chest, while her hands explored the contours of his abdomen. With each kiss, she gave small puffs of air, which made his skin shiver.

"What are you doing?" Alex finally opened his eyes, his voice still hoarse from sleep, but with a smile beginning to appear.

"Good morning, Mr. Rider," Charlize replied, her voice low and seductive. "I'm just making sure you wake up the right way."

Without waiting for an answer, she continued on her way, gently licking the skin around his abdominal muscles, while her nails lightly slid down his sides. Alex took a deep breath, feeling the heat rise through his body.

"You don't play fair, you know that?" — He said, his voice still thick with sleep, but full of amusement.

"And you love it," she replied, kissing the side of his hip.

Alex chuckled softly, placing his hands behind his head as he watched her.

"I really am a lucky man, aren't I?"

"Maybe I'm just making sure you never forget this."

She moved back up, her lips now reaching his neck, where she left a light bite before whispering in his ear:

"I want you to remember me all day today."

Alex took the opportunity to reverse roles. With one swift movement, he pulled her up, laying her next to him and holding her face in his hands.

"And how do you expect me to focus on anything else after that?" he teased, kissing her deeply.

Charlize laughed against his lips, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"That was the plan, my love."

Alex leaned in to kiss her again, this time more slowly, savoring every second.

"Thank you for starting my day like this," he whispered, looking deeply into her eyes. "You mean everything to me, you know that?"

Charlize smiled, caressing his face.

"And you mean everything to me, Alex."

After some time exchanging caresses and kisses, the two finally decided to get up and start the day. Charlize made coffee while Alex set the table. Between laughter and small affectionate touches, the couple began another day together, reinforcing the bond that united them.

For Alex, moments like that were more valuable than any medal or achievement. For Charlize, Alex was the man who made each day worth living. And together, they knew they could face anything the world threw their way.

Chapter 80 – Returning the Favor

It was a calm morning in Los Angeles. The sunlight was just beginning to filter into Alex and Charlize's bedroom. The air was still cool, and the distant sounds of the city that never sleeps were muffled by the well-insulated walls of the apartment.

This time, Alex had woken up before Charlize. He lay on his side, resting his head on one hand as he watched her sleep. Her blonde hair was spread out on the pillow, and her serene face was a lovely contrast to the intensity she exuded when she was awake.

He couldn't help the smile that appeared on his face. The thought of how she had woken him the previous morning was still fresh in his mind, and Alex decided it was time to return the favor.

Alex began the same way Charlize had: with a light kiss on her exposed shoulder. He leaned in, allowing his lips to touch her skin softly, almost like a whisper.

She sighed softly, but didn't wake up.

He continued, slowly kissing the curve of her arm, exploring the softness of her skin. His fingers slid along the contour of her collarbone, while his lips followed hers. Charlize sighed again, moving slightly in bed, but still keeping her eyes closed.

"Hmm…" she murmured, half asleep, while a smile began to form on her lips.

Alex smiled when he saw her react. He moved further down, kissing her neck and making his way to the opposite shoulder. His hands now explored the curves of her body, gently running over her arms and waist.

When he reached the base of her back, he gave small puffs of air, exactly as she had done to him, causing a slight reaction of goosebumps on her skin.

"Alex…" Charlize murmured, her voice still groggy with sleep.

— Good morning, my beautiful — he whispered, his voice low and deep, almost a whisper against her ear.

She opened her eyes slowly, turning to face him.

"Are you copying me?"

"Just returning the favor," Alex replied with a mischievous smile.

He continued kissing her, this time moving down to her abdomen, while his hands gently held her hips. Charlize was now fully awake, but she let herself relax, enjoying every moment.

"You're impossible, you know that?" she said, trying to sound reprimanding, but the smile on her face betrayed her.

"Impossible or irresistible?" Alex replied, kissing her waist again.

Charlize laughed, pulling him back up and wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Maybe both." They stared at each other for a moment, her eyes shining with a mix of love and amusement.

"Thank you for that," she said, touching his face affectionately.

"I would do that every day if I could," he replied, resting his forehead against hers.

After a few minutes of caresses and smiles, Alex finally lay down next to her, pulling her into his arms.

"You know you spoil me too much, right?" Charlize asked, as she traced circles on his chest with her fingers.

"There is no such thing as 'spoiling too much' when it comes to you," Alex replied, kissing the top of her head.

She smiled, feeling completely safe and loved.

"I really am a lucky woman."

"And I am an even luckier man."

Some time later, the couple decided to get up and start their day. Charlize, still smiling about the special morning Alex had provided, offered to make breakfast.

While she was in the kitchen, Alex watched her from the table. He loved watching her move, her every gesture was elegant and full of life.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked, noticing his gaze.

"Just admiring the most incredible woman in the world."

Charlize laughed, shaking her head.

"You really know how to make a woman feel special, Alex."

"Because you are special," he replied, getting up to help her.

The rest of the morning was filled with laughter, conversation, and plans for the day. Although their lives were busy and sometimes complicated, moments like this made it all worth it.

Alex knew that, despite all the challenges they had faced to get there, he and Charlize were exactly where they should be: together, building a life full of love, respect, and happiness.

And for him, there was no better way to start the day than by the side of the woman he loved, reciprocating the affection she always gave him.

Chapter 81 – The Hidden Voice in the Podcast

The invitation came unexpectedly. Alex was at home, resting after a long day, when his phone rang. On the other end of the line was a representative from the Shawn Ryan Show, the popular podcast that had become one of the leading outlets for special operators, veterans, and law enforcement officers to share their stories.

"Mr. Rider, this is John from the Shawn Ryan team. You've been mentioned a few times by other guests, and we'd love to have you on the show," the polite voice said.

Alex hesitated. While he admired Shawn's work and recognized the importance of telling stories to inspire others, his career in the Special Air Service (SAS) was shrouded in secrecy. He still respected the code of conduct and confidentiality that the regiment required.

"I appreciate the invitation, John. But you know that due to my career, there are limitations on what I can share," Alex replied.

"We understand completely, sir. We can provide all the necessary measures: a face mask, voice modulation, and, of course, you will have control over the topics discussed."

Alex thought for a moment. He knew that many people in the military and outside of it respected him, even without knowing his full identity. Perhaps this was an opportunity to inspire others, without compromising the principles of the SAS.

"Okay, I accept," he finally replied.

A few days later, Alex arrived at the studio where the podcast would be recorded. He wore casual clothes and a jacket that hid his robust build.

Before entering, he went through a quick preparation with the technical team, where they adjusted the mask to cover his face on video and set up a modulator to alter his voice. Shawn Ryan greeted him at the entrance. The former SEAL was known for his direct but friendly approach.

"It's an honor to have you here, even if we can't show you who you really are," Shawn said, shaking Alex's hand.

"The honor is mine. I admire what you do for our community," Alex replied.

They briefly discussed what the episode would be like, setting the boundaries of what would be discussed. Alex was pleased with the professionalism of Shawn and his team.

When the recording began, Shawn opened the episode with his usual introduction.

"Today, we have a very special guest. He is a legend among special operators, known for feats that few can even imagine. For security and confidentiality reasons, he will be identified only as 'Operator A'. Welcome to the show."

"Thank you, Shawn. It's a pleasure to be here," Alex replied, his modified voice echoing slightly.

The podcast began with lighter questions about the military career in general. Shawn knew how to steer the conversation to put the guest at ease.

"So, Operator A, what led you to join the SAS?"

Alex smiled under the banner.

"I think it was a combination of patriotism, a bit of youthful recklessness, and the desire to test my limits. It's not an easy path, but it's a rewarding one." As the conversation progressed, Shawn began to address high-risk missions, always careful to respect the limits of what Alex could reveal.

"There are a lot of rumors about that long-range shooting record. Something like 4km, right?"

Alex chuckled lightly.

"Well, let's just say it was a calculated shot. It had to be done, and the situation required a lot of patience and precision. It wasn't something I did alone; I had the support of an incredible team."

Shawn laughed.

"Humble, as expected. But seriously, something like that must have required meticulous planning."

"Absolutely. Every element counts: weather conditions, distance, target movement. You don't make a shot like that without the perfect combination of training and luck."

Shawn then asked about the personal sacrifices and psychological impact of a career in the SAS.

"We know that many operators suffer after years of service. How did you deal with that?"

Alex paused, thinking carefully before answering.

"It's not easy, Shawn." You see things that change your perception of humanity. But I think what helped me was having a solid foundation outside of work. People who care about you and remind you that there is a world beyond combat.

Shawn nodded in understanding.

"That's something I hear a lot from my guests. It's good to know that you've found that balance."

Alex also took the time to praise his fellow SAS members and the institution.

"At the end of the day, the success of any mission is never about one person. It's about the team. The SAS taught me that trust in your teammate is key."

"I totally agree," Shawn said. "And I think that's a lesson that anyone can apply, even outside of the military."

After nearly two hours of talking, Shawn began to wrap up the episode.

"Operator A, it was an absolute honor to have you here. I'm sure our listeners will be inspired by your story, even without knowing exactly who you are.

— Thank you, Shawn. I hope that some of what we discussed today can help others, whether in the military or outside of it.

When the cameras turned off, Alex and Shawn exchanged a few informal words.

— You know, I think you could write a book one day — Shawn suggested.

— Maybe, but it would have to be a very R-rated book — Alex joked.

Shawn laughed.

— Fair enough. But you have a story that deserves to be told, even if only partially.

Alex thanked her again and left the studio, feeling satisfied for having participated. He knew that, even with the anonymity, he had contributed in some way to inspire and educate others.

When he got home, Charlize greeted him with a warm hug.

— So, how was it? — she asked.

— It was good. I think Shawn enjoyed the conversation," Alex replied.

Charlize smiled.

"I'm sure you'll be a success, even without them showing your face."

Alex kissed her, thinking about how his life had changed since leaving the SAS, but also how much he could still do to inspire and help others, even outside of active duty.

Chapter 82 – The Podcast Goes Live

The day dawned calmly in Los Angeles. Alex was sitting on the porch of his house, drinking coffee and reading the news on his tablet, when his phone began to vibrate insistently. It was a message from Shawn Ryan.

Shawn Ryan: "The episode is live! Get ready for the reaction, Operator A. I think you'll like it!"

Alex smiled, still a little skeptical. He knew the episode would generate interest, but he had no idea how much of an impact it could have.

"What's up?" Charlize asked, coming out to join him.

"The podcast aired. I think Shawn is excited about the repercussion," Alex replied, showing her his phone.

"Shall we watch?"

"Maybe. But I want to see people's reactions first."

Charlize rolled her eyes, laughing.

"You and your aversion to being the center of attention." Alex opened YouTube on his tablet and saw that the episode was already gaining views quickly. The comments were a mix of admiration and curiosity.

"This Operator A is a legend! Who could he be?"

"4 km away? That's almost impossible. This guy is insane!"

"I love how Shawn always manages to bring the best operators to the podcast."

Curious, Charlize picked up the tablet and began reading the comments out loud.

"It seems like you're impressing people, honey."

"Thank goodness they don't know who I am. I'd rather keep it that way," Alex said, trying to downplay the situation, although he couldn't hide a small smile.

Meanwhile, Shawn Ryan himself was interacting with fans in the comments and on Instagram, answering questions without revealing Alex's identity. He posted a photo with the caption:

"One of the most special episodes I've ever done. Thank you to Operator A for sharing your stories with us. Inspiring is an understatement!"

The post quickly racked up thousands of likes and comments. Some ex-servicemen were trying to guess who the mysterious operator was, while others simply expressed gratitude for his courage and service.

Later, Alex received a call from an old friend from the SAS.

"Alex! I just listened to the podcast. You did a great job keeping a low profile, but I'm sure some people will guess."

"I hope not, Paul. I don't want that attention."

"Don't worry. Most people are just impressed by the 4km shot story. You're officially a legend among operators."

Alex laughed.

"That's enough of that, Paul. Let's change the subject."

That evening, Alex and Charlize decided to watch the episode together. They settled down on the couch, and Charlize brought over a glass of wine.

The video began with Shawn's usual introduction, highlighting the exceptional character of the guest.

"There you are, with your voice modulated," Charlize joked.

"That's better," Alex replied, smiling.

As the episode progressed, Charlize was impressed by the way Alex described his career, always with humility and a focus on teamwork.

"You were amazing," she said, holding his hand.

"It was no big deal. I just wanted to show that there's a lot more to it than people realize."

In the days that followed, the episode continued to gain traction. It was shared on military forums, social media, and even in veterans groups. Many highlighted the leadership and resilience lessons Alex mentioned, while others focused on the technical feat of the 4km shot.

One of the largest special operators forums posted:

"Who could this Operator A be? Few have the level of skill and experience to do what he did. Absolute respect!"

Others speculated about his identity, but no one could prove anything.

A few days later, Shawn called Alex.

"Alex, the episode is going viral. I've received several messages from operators and fans who felt inspired.

"That's good to hear, Shawn. But I hope no one finds out who I am."

"Not yet. And don't worry, your identity is safe. But honestly, would you consider coming back for a second episode sometime?"

Alex laughed.

"We'll see. For now, I'd rather remain anonymous."

That night, while Charlize slept, Alex lay awake, reflecting on everything. Participating in the podcast had been a risk, but it was also an opportunity to share a bit of his journey without compromising his confidentiality.

He knew that despite his retirement, his story would continue to inspire others, even if he remained anonymous. And that was enough for him.

With a peaceful smile, he turned out the lights and went to bed, ready to face whatever the future held.

Chapter 83 – Remembering the Encounter with 007

It was a quiet afternoon in London, and Alex was sitting in the garden of his house, enjoying the rare British sunshine while drinking a cup of tea. Charlize was on the phone organizing appointments, so he took the time to relax.

As his thoughts wandered, he remembered a unique encounter he had years ago, when he was still in the SAS: a joint mission with MI6 that put him side by side with the legendary agent James Bond, known to all as 007.

The encounter took place in 2016, when Alex was still at the height of his career in the SAS. He had been ordered to report immediately to a military base in London. The tone of the communication was serious, but the nature of the mission was still unknown.

When he arrived, he found his commander, Colonel Parker, waiting for him with a cautious expression.

"Rider, you have been selected for a joint mission with MI6."

"MI6?" It's not often that we get involved with them, Colonel."

"It's not often, but this isn't a common situation. They need an operator with your experience and discretion."

Alex nodded, always ready for the unexpected.

"Understood, sir."

A few hours later, Alex was led into a discreet conference room in an MI6 building. He immediately recognized the setting: elegant, yet functional.

That's when he saw the man entering the room. Tall, well-dressed in an impeccable suit, he exuded charisma and confidence.

"Alex Rider, right?" the man said, extending his hand.

"Yes. And you're…?"

"Bond. James Bond."

Alex bit back a small smile.

"It seems I'll be privileged to work with a legend."

"Legend or not, we're going to need your field experience for this mission, Sergeant."

Bond was straightforward and efficient, but Alex could sense the friendly tone behind the facade of professionalism.

The mission was simple on paper but incredibly dangerous: intercept a shipment of chemical weapons before it fell into the hands of a terrorist organization in the Middle East.Alex and Bond would have to infiltrate a port in Greece, where the negotiation was about to take place.

Before they left, M, the head of MI6, gave them final instructions.

"Bond, Rider, this is a high-risk operation. You two have complementary skills, and we hope that will be enough to ensure success."

Bond gave Alex a confident look. "Complementary skills, huh? Well, Rider, I hope you can dance, because this mission is going to be a complicated choreography."

Alex replied with a dry smile. "Just don't step on my toes."

On the night of the operation, Alex and Bond infiltrated the port using disguises as local workers. They kept communication to a minimum, using gestures and signals to coordinate as they closed in on their target.

When they reached the warehouse where the chemical weapons were stored, Alex led the charge while Bond took care of the outside distractions.

"What are you doing?" Alex whispered as he saw Bond fiddling with a watch.

"Just adjusting a little trick. It'll give us more time to get out when things start to heat up."

"As long as you don't blow us up together, do whatever you want."

Alex used his tactical skills to silently neutralize the guards while Bond activated a device to disable the security cameras.

When they reached the container, they realized that the shipment was larger than expected.

"This isn't going to be easy to move," Alex commented.

"Who said we're going to move it?" Bond replied, pulling a small explosive device from his briefcase.

"Always straight to the point, huh?"

"That's my style."

Before they could complete the sabotage, the alarm sounded. They were surrounded by armed guards, and an intense exchange of fire began. Alex took up a strategic position, covering Bond while he planted the explosives.

"Rider, you're an incredible shot," Bond shouted over the noise.

"And you're not as bad as they say," Alex replied, his tone amused.

The two worked together flawlessly, combining Alex's military precision with Bond's creativity and daring. When the last charge was placed, they ran out of the warehouse, diving into the sea just seconds before the explosion.

Back at headquarters, M was pleased with the result. "Good job, gentlemen. This was an operation that demanded the best of both of you, and you delivered."

Bond turned to Alex. "You know, Rider, you're more than just a soldier. You're a professional anyone would trust with their life."

— And you're more than just an agent with a license to kill. It's good to know that not all the rumors about you are true.

The two shook hands, a gesture of mutual respect.

Back in the garden, Alex smiled as he remembered the mission. He and Bond had never worked together again, but that meeting remained etched in his memory as a unique moment in his career.

Charlize walked back to him and noticed his expression.

"What are you thinking about?"

"An old coworker. Someone who knows how to do things in a... stylish way."

"Will you ever stop surprising me with these stories?"

Alex shrugged, laughing.

"Probably not.
