Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Weapons

Buying a weapon was definitely out of the question.

Lu Mingfei would have to make do with his ordinary weapon for now.

Ren Asakura smiled slightly as a good idea came to him.

"Did you forget? Your good friend Old Tang has the perfect weapon for you."

"Does he? I had no idea."

Lu Mingfei responded instinctively.

Ren Asakura patted Lu Mingfei's shoulder.

"Don't forget about the Seven Deadly Sins! It's the top-tier alchemical weapon capable of killing the Dragon King. The materials used to forge it are the best alchemical materials available. Spiritual energy is just another form of energy, and good weapons can withstand this kind of energy. Though I've never seen the Seven Deadly Sins myself, based on the descriptions from novels, the Seven Deadly Sins is at least a spiritual tool. Plus, using it requires a specific bloodline. Trust me, no one is more suited for it than you."

The Seven Deadly Sins is a set of alchemical swords and knives forged to kill the Four Great Monarchs. The forging technique is unparalleled and is considered the pinnacle of alchemy.

The full name of the Seven Deadly Sins is Bronze Hell: The Seven Deadly Sins.

Lu Mingfei's eyes immediately lit up when he heard "Seven Deadly Sins."

This was a treasure!

He couldn't afford to buy high-quality cultivation weapons now.

Using the Seven Deadly Sins for now would be fine.

"As expected of the group leader, you really thought of everything. But I remember the Seven Deadly Sins is in Bronze City, near the Three Gorges Dam…"

Mai quietly listened, thinking that she'd report this to her boss—the old boss.

Ren Asakura patted Lu Mingfei's shoulder.

"Don't just take it without asking. Bronze City is Old Tang's home, and the Seven Deadly Sins was created by him. It wouldn't be good to visit your friend's house and steal something without asking first. At the very least, we should ask Old Tang's opinion!"

Old Tang had forgotten his memories as the Dragon King and was just an ordinary person now.

Lu Mingfei thought for a moment before speaking.

"You're right. We're law-abiding youths, so even if we're going to take something from someone's house, we should at least ask first. I believe Old Tang will agree!"

Ren Asakura let out a strange laugh.

"He'll definitely agree!"

And so, Lu Mingfei began to set his sights on the Seven Deadly Sins.

He was really broke now! He couldn't even afford a single weapon.

---

Later that night, Mai took out her phone.

She dialed her boss's number.

She was about to report what had happened today.

"Boss…"

"What happened?"

Mai opened her mouth, but then suddenly found she couldn't say a word.

All the things she wanted to say were stuck in her throat.

"What's wrong?"

The boss's voice came through the phone.

"It's not that… how should I put it… he, he, he…"

Mai was about to reveal the information she learned today, but then she just couldn't speak.

In the darkness, Ren Asakura smiled slightly.

"The black-hearted boss's employee code of conduct—Rule One: No leaking the boss's secrets!!!"

Mai finally hung up the phone, her face full of disappointment.

She had failed to explain anything clearly.

The boss had told her to continue being an undercover agent.

"What on earth is going on?!"

Mai could only vent her frustration helplessly.

---

Lu Mingfei's home wasn't really suitable for anyone else to stay.

Mai stayed at the hotel, just like usual.

Ren Asakura stood high in the sky, overlooking the sea of city lights below.

"A society where dragons and humans coexist... But in the end, they haven't even left Earth. The stars above are so brilliant—why not explore them together?"

---

The next day came quickly.

Right in front of Mai, Lu Mingfei used the Shadow Clone Technique to split off a clone of himself, then sent the clone to school while he himself went to an internet café to play games.

Mai stared in stunned silence at the whole process.

If this kind of thing existed in the world, every criminal would be able to pull off the perfect crime and create a flawless alibi.

The real Lu Mingfei patted his clone's shoulder with a solemn expression.

"I'm counting on you, clone!"

"No problem, original!"

Two identical people stood in front of her, and once again Mai began to question whether the ninja techniques she had learned were fake.

The Shadow Clone Technique produced physical clones.

Once upon a time, Uchiha Itachi used shadow clones to attend school in his place.

But if the clone took too much damage, it would disappear, and all of its memories and accumulated fatigue would be transferred back to the original.

If too many clones were used, then the moment they disappeared, all the exhaustion would rebound onto the original, potentially exhausting them to death.

Mai reached out her slender hand and started feeling around the clone Lu Mingfei.

"It's really a physical body!"

Lu Mingfei's face turned slightly red. After all, Mai was an absolute beauty, and being touched so brazenly by someone like that—he couldn't help feeling a bit embarrassed.

After confirming the clone was real, Mai began to question her life choices once again.

"All right, Mai, go to the nearest internet café and rent two computers. Let's have some fun!"

Mai had no choice but to obey.

"Damn black-hearted boss, always making me do the dirty work! Why is it always me on the front lines? Somebody save me!"

No matter how much she complained, no one was coming.

Ren Asakura, for one, didn't mind poaching all of Lu Mingze's subordinates.

Lu Mingze's expression when that happened would surely be priceless.

---

Lu Mingfei wore a mask, afraid someone might recognize him—after all, one minute he was supposed to be in school, the next in an internet café. That would be hard to explain.

Ren Asakura thought it was too much of a hassle and directly cast a perception-blocking spell on him.

Now, no matter who saw Lu Mingfei, even if they knew him personally, they wouldn't be able to recognize him. They'd just see him as some vaguely familiar stranger.

Unless it was someone on their side, like Mai, who had signed an employment contract.

Computers of this era were still way too outdated.

But today's internet café trip wasn't just for fun—they were here to invite Old Tang out to play.

Ren Asakura had already thought up a plan to stir things up.

Lu Mingfei wanted the Seven Deadly Sins, after all—it was a dragon-slaying weapon.

And Old Tang was his good friend. Judging by the timeline, the plot was about to start.

Lu Mingfei really didn't want to face Old Tang in a fight.

Although by then, Old Tang might not be the same Old Tang anymore.

But with the group leader around, everything would be fine.

No more thinking.

Time to game and have fun!

Mai really was acting like a nanny—she brought tons of snacks and drinks.

Then she leaned on the back of the two guys' chairs, watching them play.

After logging in, Lu Mingfei immediately invited Old Tang to join.

Ren Asakura joined the game as well.

Old Tang started chatting as soon as the game began.

"Hehehe! Lao Lu! Long time no see online. You chasing some chick lately?"

Lu Mingfei replied righteously, "I've been cultivating and didn't have time. I just made a breakthrough, so now I've got time to mess around."
