Walking down the market, Duncan held two skewers in each hand, busy munching on toffee chunks as he toured the market. To him, this was his favourite place, a place that made him yearn for home, unlike the cold halls in the Palace.
He could not remember how often he ran away from home, wandering the corners of Blodeau. Back then, his mother barely cared for him, always focused on her politics and whatnot. The only ones who even remotely did were the maids and butlers, and even then, to them, it was merely their duty, their reason for living.
No one did it from the bottom of their hearts
The only one who was even remotely close to a friend was Vidia, and even then, she had some...'questionable'... habits to say the least. She was 23 years older than him, and by that point, a full-fledged Combat Pixie.
Pixies usually came in two types: Melee and Auxiliary. They could only traverse one path in their lifetime, but this made it easier for them to ascend through the Tiers. But unlike other races, they had to pay a heavy price.
For each path, they had to commit acts that went along with their chosen types. For the Non-Combat, or Auxiliary, types, they had to commit acts of virtue. The more virtuous the act, the stronger their powers will be.
But for Combat Pixies, they had to commit to fulfilling their vices to maintain their full power. The worse their vice, the stronger their attacks. That's why most Combat Pixes end up as lunatics or madmen, a liability to everyone around them. They were only used during times of war, and usually with great security.
At this point, Duncan began asking himself what Vidia's vice was, for unlike what was told to him, she was calm, collected, and most importantly of all, sane.
That all changed one day
One day, unable to find her, he went against her wishes, and entered her home. Calling her many times, he was unable to find her. Desperate for his only friend, he began searching for her, until he heard some moaning coming from her room.
Curious, he opened the door, concerned that she must have been under immense pain and lying in bed. Wanting to help her, he barged right in, hoping to help her.
What he saw scarred him for life
There, lying in her birthday suit, was Vidia, pleasuring herself, while sniffing young Duncan's used underwear. Plastered all along the walls were pictures of young children, boys and girls, each in various compromising positions, each captured candidly.
While this would've only unsettled other people who stumbled in here, you've got to remember, Duncan was no ordinary Elf. He was a reincarnator from another world, who held more knowledge than the average Medieval folk, especially in the knowledge regarding vices. And he knew what Vidia's vice was.
She was a bonafide child lover
Unable to hold on to his food, he barfed right there and then, causing a very naked Pixie to stop what she was doing and try to help a young Elf. Horrified, Duncan scrambled backwards, trying to get as far away as possible from the now dangerous 'friend'.
Just when he felt that his chastity would no longer be kept that day, a blinding flash of light emerged from the doorway. Strutting out was a cold-faced Celestine, who, upon seeing the room, understood what was going on. With a soft sigh, she knocked Duncan unconscious, before dragging him back home.
After the disaster that day, he no longer saw Vidia. All he heard were scraps from here and there regarding her, the biggest one being her joining the military once his mother found out what she was doing that day.
And from that day onwards, Duncan was all alone again...

Just remembering what he saw that day gave him the shivers. Not wanting to go through that shitshow of a day, he continued his wandering going through the stalls and enjoying the sight.
Just as he was about to go to the pawn shop, he spotted a tall cloaked figure entering the alleyway. While usually he wouldn't care who wore what, he grew curious at who they were, for the cloak was not Elvish in nature.
Sneaking behind them, he followed until they came to the end, where they attempted to drop something, something that oozed a sinister odour.
"Step away from there, and put your hands up where I can see you!"
Seeing they were caught, they immediately began fleeing, trying to evade Duncan's capture. Just when they were about to escape Duncan, a small lightning ball struck them in their back, causing them to fall and get knocked unconscious. "Hmph, no villain can escape Vidia the Lightning Fingered! No matter where you go, Vidia will always get you..."
Seeing a tall, burly Elf behind the criminal, she thanked him for trying to stop them from committing their crime. "Thank you brave citiz– Oh, it's you. Well, Dunkie pooh, why don't you come paly with big sis again~"
Squinting in disgust, Duncan knelt beside the criminal, removing the cover, trying to discover who it was. "Let's see which bastard is trying to– Holy shit, how on Earadun is a Human here!?"
Realising the Gravity of the situation, Duncan headed back to the Palace, while Vidia took the unconscious human to the prison cells for further interrogation.
What on Earadun is going on here!?
