Ethan was sleeping soundly when a loud knock on the door jolted him awake.
Opening his eyes, he shivered from the bone-chilling cold in the room and quickly glanced at his wife, concerned that she might also feel the chill.
To his relief, he found her curled up under the blankets, still fast asleep. He felt a sense of comfort as he realized she was safe.
He gently shook her awake, whispering, "Wife, the extreme cold is here."
He wanted to notify her of the situation, as he had promised to do whenever their surroundings changed.
Elena woke up groggily but jolted awake as she shuddered from the chill.
'It's freezing.'
"Wife, it's so cold. Please go to Paradise and put on your warm clothes," Ethan suggested, gently caressing her hands to help warm them.
"Alright, I'll head there now," she replied, then vanished from their unit and entered the space.
The knocking continued, more insistent this time.
"Chief... Ch... Chief! Wake up!"
