(Kael POV)
Have you ever taken a female out on a date with her older brother or father as a supervisor? No?
Well, neither have I — but I'm pretty sure this breakfast is a close equivalent.
Of course, I'm not in a position to complain. At least Astrid is here, and I have a chance to talk to her.
Given our past, and all that I've done, I know that any conversation with Astrid is better than no conversation.
The three of us sit back down at the table. As Brady and Astrid look at their menus, I watch Astrid.
"You mean stare at Astrid," Luke corrects me.
Fine, whatever. As Brady and Astrid look at their menus, I stare at Astrid.
She glances up at me. "Why are you staring at me?"
"You are beautiful," I reply honestly.
Brady lets out a low growl. Astrid gives him a look, and he stops.
"I'm sorry that I never noticed it before, Astrid. You are breathtaking."
Another low growl comes from Brady. This time Astrid just rolls her eyes and shakes her head.
