Orion tore off another bite and shook his head with a muffled, "Nope."
Grease glistening on his chin and fingers, his hunger momentarily making him forget everything else. Megan raised a brow at him, both impressed and mildly horrified.
"You must be really hungry," she said, a crooked smile tugging at her lips.
He paused long enough to give her a sheepish grin. "I feel like I could eat the fire too, honestly."
A soft laugh slipped from her. "I never knew you were this funny."
Orion chuckled as he continued eating, mouth full and content. "Starvation brings out the charm, I guess."
He was nearly halfway through the roasted rabbit when something struck him — he hadn't offered Megan a single bite. The realization hit him like a slap of cold water. What if she had cooked this for both of them? What if she hadn't eaten all day either?
