As the door closed behind Isaiah, Aurélia was left alone in her house, the silence a stark contrast to the lively chatter she was accustomed to with her best friend Lila. She methodically cleaned up the dining table, her movements efficient and precise. Once she finished, she retreated to her room to fetch her laptop, her mind already wandering to the tasks she needed to complete.
As she settled into the sitting room, the familiar glow of the screen provided a sense of comfort, but the emptiness of the house began to seep in, leaving her feeling restless. Aurélia' s fingers flew across the keyboard as she worked on her assignments and browsed recipes, her passion for cooking a welcome distraction. However, her curiosity soon got the better of her, and she found herself typing "Isaiah Blackwood" into the search bar.
The results yielded his social media profiles, and she clicked on his name, her eyes scanning his posts with an intensity that surprised her. A soft smile spread across her face as she scrolled through his photos and videos, taken with his friends. Yet, as she continued to browse, a flicker of curiosity turned into a nagging question: where was Gabriella?
Aurélia's gaze lingered on the screen, her mind racing with possiblities. Given the public displays of affection she'd witnessed, she expected Gabriella to be a prominent fixture in Isaiah's online presence. Instead, there was nothing– no photos, no mentions, no hints of her existence.
Aurélia's curiosity was piqued, and she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the story than met the eye. With a quiet click, she closed her laptop, but the question lingered, refusing to be silenced: what was the truth behind Isaiah and Gabriella's relationship?
Aurélia's phone buzzed with an incoming video call from Asher. She hesitated, her brow furrowed in curiosity. Why was Asher calling her on video call? She took a deep breath and answered, her voice neutral. "Hey, Aurélia!" Asher's cheerful greeting filled the screen. "Hello, Asher," she replied, her tone measured.
Asher's gaze roamed over her face, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "You look stunning today...— I mean, you're always beautiful everyday." Aurélia's cheeks warmed slightly as she murmured a thank you. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she asked, "Is everything okay? You're using a video call, which is unusual for you." Asher's expression turned serious, his voice tinged with concern. "Nothing's wrong, I just wanted to check in on you. I don't want you to get hurt."
Aurélia's response was immediate and firm. "I'm always okay, Asher. I'm a tough woman and I can handle my own problems." Asher's gaze lingered on hers, his eyes searching. "By the way, Isaiah wasn't home yesterday, and he hasn't come back this morning. I called him but he wasn't picking up his phone, I thought maybe he was with you...or maybe he's been bothering you again. I don't care about him and whatever happens to him, I just hate the thought of him bullying you."
Aurélia's response was cautious, her words carefully chosen. "Aha, I haven't seen him either..." Her tone hinted at something more, but she didn't elaborate. Asher's eyes narrowed slightly, as if sensing that she was holding something back.
"Take care of yourself, Aurélia, and have a nice weekend," Asher said, his voice softening. With a gentle smile, he ended the call, leaving Aurélia to wonder what he had really wanted to discuss.
After hanging up the video call with Asher, Aurélia decided to text her mom to check in on her, her little brother, and father. She was used to staying in touch since they lived apart. Her mom responded with a string of laughing emojis and a video of her brother dancing, bringing tears of joy to Aurélia's eyes. She replied, "I miss you guys so much. Wishing you happy days and sending lots of love.
Aurélia left her house, feeling carefree, and decided to stroll around instead of taking a cab to walk to different places. She had no start from where to stroll, she later considered visiting a familiar spot she'd been to with Asher, but it was too far. Instead, she opted to stroll around her neighborhood. As she strolled, her eyeslanded on an ice cream seller, and she joined the line to buy one for herself. After buying her ice cream, she turned to leave, but felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Isaiah, his presence unexpected.
Aurélia's expression turned worried as she pulled her shoulder away and asked, "What are you still doing here, Isaiah? Asher called me asking about you." Isaiah's smile was enigmatic as he replied, "Does he care about you that much, even though he's not your boyfriend?"
"No need for him to ask you about me, unless he is looking for something." he added. "I hate that reaction, Isaiah." Aurélia complained. "I'm sorry about that but I also missed you that's why I came back," Isaiah said, his voice filled with emotion. "My heart isn't at peace when I'm away from you." Aurélia's turned cautious. "You'll get me into trouble, Isaiah. You have a volatile relationship with Gabriella, and another thing is that I hate seeing you and your brother fight because of me–it's not my style."
Aurélia's face fell, her voice barely above a whisper. "And honestly, I'm not sure if your feelings for me are genuine or just a ploy to hurt me with your girlfriend's help." There eyes locked onto each other, Isaiah's face sincere as he gently grasped her shoulders. "How can I prove my feelings to you if you don't trust me? It really hurts me deeply when you think I'm playing games with you."
Aurélia remained silent for a moment, her eyes searching his. Isaiah's face fell, his voice tinged with sadness. "It's okay if you want me to leave. But you need is that I always keep my promises, and I'll prove to you more that I love you more than anything." Aurélia's expression softened, and she grabbed his hand. "Want to take a stroll with me today?" she asked, awarm smile spreading across her face.
Isaiah's face lit up, and he accepted, his fingers intertwining with hers. "Thank you, Aurélia," he replied, his voice filled with gratitude. They walked hand in hand, Aurélia enjoyed her ice cream, as they were strolling and the tension between them dissipating slightly.
"Hey, Isaiah, shouldn't you head home today?" Aurélia asked, her hand nestled in his. "Your family might be freaking out."
Isaiah shrugged. "No worries, I'll call them later. I'm not exactly a kid, you know."
Aurélia raised an eyebrow. "Still, they'd probably appreciate a heads up."
Isaiah changed the subject, his eyes locking onto hers. "I've noticed you have a sweet tooth. What's the deal with that?"
Aurélia's gaze turned playful, her smile hinting at secrets. "You really want to know?"
"Yeah, I'm curious," Isaiah replied, his interest piqued.
"But I also have a question first and you have to be sincere with me Isaiah." Aurélia said, her reaction serious.
"I'm I the first girl that you have ever had sex with or...?" Aurélia asked.
Isaiah chuckled before answering the question. "Why are you laughing? So I'm not the first girl that you have ever had sex with?" Aurélia asked her brows narrowed.
"I'm sorry for laughing, but don't get surprised if I say this. The truth is that you are the first girl I have had sex with, and felt it more and more passionate. So I was a virgin, although my actions don't express it. Now I'm not a virgin because I made it with you and it's great." Isaiah replied and his words sincere.
"What of Gabriella? Haven't you ever had sex with her?" Aurélia asked.
"Hmm, of course not. She tricked one day with drinks but I got out of the trap." Isaiah replied.
"So, my reply for my question I asked?" Isaiah added.
Aurélia's response was cryptic. "You skipped the taste you had to tryout on my body, yesterday."
Isaiah's confusion was palpable, "What taste did I forget to tryout?"
Aurélia just laughed, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "May be another time, if you make more research about different tasting and areas to be tasted, I'll answer you properly."
