"So, do we run?" Thorn raised a brow.
"Of course, we fucking run." Ren had already raised a hand towards his paddle vines, trying to increase their speed. "What kind of question is that?"
"I thought you said they had a code." Thorn called out, incredulously.
"They don't attack fishing boats, dude." Ren answered.
The vines sped up, sending the boat cutting through the water faster than before.
Thorn looked around them like he was searching for something. "Last time I checked, this was a fishing boat."
Ren paused.
They truly had bought a fishing boat from the town, but that wasn't an excuse.
"We're not fishermen." He said.
"But how would they know?" Lilith frowned. "All they can see from afar is a fishing boat."
"Trust me." Ren grinned. "They already know."
"Because we ran?" Elias asked flatly.
"Because we ran." Ren nodded, his eyes on the approaching pirate ship.
The ship was moving faster than their boat. So much faster that there was only one outcome of this chase.
