Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Heading to Flaming Mountain

Pu'er, who had been watching the fight, rushed to Yamcha's side, calling out, "Master Yamcha!"

Yamcha, in pain, covered his mouth and glared at the triumphant shorty who had defeated him. "You'll pay for this," he said, and then fled with Pu'er.

They hid behind a large rock, and Pu'er asked worriedly, "Master Yamcha, what should we do now?"

Yamcha thought for a moment and said, "Since I lost to them, we'll follow them for now and look for an opportunity."

"From last night's events, it seems there's not only them searching for the Dragon Balls. There's another group hiding in the shadows. We just need to wait for them to clash, and we can take advantage of the situation."

After saying this, Yamcha laughed triumphantly, but his missing tooth made it less impressive.

John didn't intend to kill Yamcha, so he let them leave. He and Goku returned to the car, waking up Bulma and Oolong.

Bulma rubbed her head, which had hit the car during the impact, and asked, "What happened? What just happened?"

John briefly explained the situation, and Bulma, instead of blaming Yamcha for firing the RPG, scolded John for not waking her up, as she missed the chance to meet the desert prince.

John was speechless. He realized that girls could be hypocritical, whether in the real world or the Dragon Ball world.

After checking the car and finding it unusable, John took out another capsule car and headed towards Flaming Mountain with the group.

Unbeknownst to them, Yamcha was also following in his car from a distance.

Soon, they reached the vicinity of Flaming Mountain and saw a tall mountain engulfed in raging flames.

True to its name, Flaming Mountain's intense heat made them sweat profusely, and their clothes were soaked and dried repeatedly.

Bulma took out the Dragon Radar, hoping the Dragon Ball was inside Flaming Mountain. To her dismay, the Dragon Radar confirmed that the Dragon Ball was indeed within the mountain.

Bulma asked John, "What should we do? Should I ask Goku to fly with his cloud to check it out?"

John shook his head and said, "No need. The Dragon Ball must be in Ox-King's castle. Even if Goku can fly there with his cloud, he won't be able to enter. He might get burned by the flames."

"To get the Dragon Ball, we must extinguish the fire on Flaming Mountain," John concluded.

As John and Bulma discussed how to put out the fire, Oolong anxiously said, "Let's just leave. I feel like Ox-King is watching us from nearby!"

Bulma, however, was fearless. "Don't worry. We have Goku and John. What's there to fear from Ox-King?"

As Bulma finished speaking, a large axe with a fierce wind behind it flew towards John's group.

John quickly pushed Bulma's head down, while Goku pulled Oolong to safety.

With a loud thud, the massive axe embedded itself in the wall behind them, sending shards of debris flying.

Bulma, terrified, looked up at the axe above her head. She was relieved when John pulled her down, as her head would have been smashed by the axe.

John looked towards the direction of the axe and saw a large figure emerging from the smoke and dust.

John estimated the figure's height to be over 20 meters, and its massive body exuded immense pressure. Each step it took shook the ground. It wore armor and a helmet with bull horns.

"Die, you thieves who dare to covet my treasure!" Ox-King roared, charging towards them with his axe.

John quickly explained, "Ox-King, we're not here to steal your treasure. We're just looking for a Dragon Ball."

"Dragon Ball? Anything in my castle is mine. No one can covet it," Ox-King said, swinging his axe at John.

Goku jumped in, raising his Nyoi-bo and striking Ox-King.

Ox-King had no choice but to change his attack, blocking Goku's strike with his axe. He then recognized the Nyoi-bo in Goku's hand, and his anger turned to surprise.

Ox-King sheathed his axe and pointed at Goku's Nyoi-bo, asking, "Where did you get that Nyoi-bo?"

Goku was taken aback and honestly replied, "My grandfather gave it to me."

"Your grandfather? What's his name?" Ox-King asked further.

"My grandfather is called Son Gohan," Goku answered.

"Son Gohan? You're Son Gohan's grandson? That's wonderful! I was your grandfather's junior. We both studied martial arts under Master Roshi," Ox-King said excitedly.

"Huh? Master Roshi? Who's that?" Goku was surprised, not knowing that Master Roshi was the same person as Kame-Sen'nin.

At that moment, John reminded Goku, "Goku, Master Roshi is Kame-Sen'nin."

"What?!" Goku exclaimed in surprise. "The Kame-Sen'nin I met is actually my grandfather's teacher?"

Ox-King was even more astonished. "You've met Master Roshi?"

Goku nodded and said, "Yes, Kame-Sen'nin gave me the cloud too."

"The cloud? That's wonderful!" Ox-King was delighted and clapped Goku on the shoulder. "Goku, can I ask you for a favor?"

Due to Ox-King's relationship with his grandfather, Goku readily agreed to the request. "Uncle Ox-King, what do you need me to do?"

Ox-King looked up at the mountain engulfed in flames and said, "This place wasn't always Flaming Mountain. One day, flames suddenly erupted from the mountain, surrounding not only the peak but also my castle. I can't even return to my home."

"But Master Roshi has a fan that can create wind, extinguish fires, and summon rain. With that fan, we can put out the fire on Flaming Mountain, and I can return to my castle. Of course, you can also get the Dragon Ball you're looking for."
