I jolted upright, my heart thundering against my chest.
The room was dim, shadows stretched long across the walls, and night had swallowed the sky outside the window.
My hand instinctively clutched at the sheets bare. My body ached with the raw imprint of everything Ian and I had done.
Damn.
I looked around in panic and there were no clothes. The torn pieces of my dress were scattered across the floor like evidence of my shame and desire.
And the only thing louder than the pounding in my chest was the single name ringing in my mind.
"Olivia."
"Oh, God…" I whispered, flinging the sheets aside. "She's going to be worried sick."
The guilt came like a storm. I had left her behind again. I didn't even call. And now I wasn't just late… I wasn't even in the damn mansion.
