In spite of its appearances, Layla-May mentioned something about a contract established between Mammon and her, which I cannot seem to find in this book.
I raise my head until my eyes once again meet the sigil on her sternum. And I question, "You mentioned a 'contract'..."
Layla-May nods, "This sigil on my body acts as the demon's signature as a manifestation of the establishment of the contract, it remains on my body as long as our contract is still effective."
'Effective'? What does that mean? "What is the content…?"
With a smack of her lips Layla-May reveals, "A deal. Offerings we made for each other." she squats down in front of me as she elaborates, "Mammon extended my time on the land of the living, and promised to lend me her strength to accomplish the revenge I conducted for my sister——To send all five of her murderers to hell. They are the true demons after all."
Concerned, I ask, "And it includes Oliver…?"
